The Petit Palais belongs to the same owner as the Miramar Cesar Thalasso and Palace, and packs a pleasant surprise for a 3 star hotel. It has been fully rebuilt and the new design is characterised by simple lines and modern decor. It has a swimming pool, and is well suited to families and couples alike.

The Petit Palais is near the Hasdrubal Prestige and the Sofitel Palma Djerba, close to Sidi Mahrez beach. It is a 15 minute drive to Houmt Souk and half an hour to the airport.
Accommodation
6.25/10
It is a small hotel with a total capacity of 300 guests. Two views are on offer: the garden or the swimming pool. We would recommend the second option, even though it is noisier. The rooms are in little "menzels" adorned with flowers and a balcony. They can be reached by passing through the small gate from the swimming pool terrace. The decor is simple and pleasant, in keeping with the general feel of the hotel. As the hotel is geared towards families, we would recommend booking into one of the 'privilege' rooms; they have a mezzanine that can come in handy for couples with young children as well as families with pre-teens in tow, who will probably appreciate the added privacy. The hotel currently holds the Tunisian 3 star rating, and the rooms have no television, telephone, or mini bar. Moreover, the safe is at reception and is charged. The 58 'privilege' rooms are located in a separate menzel set around a verdant patio that is illuminated by a dome. Not only larger, measuring approximately 40m², they also have better facilities, including a big bed, a generous entrance space, a telephone, a television, and a mini bar. You can even see the sea from some of them. We especially liked the mezzanine, with plenty of head room and windows that let natural light pour in.
Overview
6.75/10
The hotel was originally built in 1991 and was completely renovated in 2008. It re-opened in June of that year as a small 3 star hotel with stylish decor, and offers excellent value for money. Guests arrive at a bright entrance overlooking the swimming pool where the decor is a clever combination of North African features (the coloured lamp, for example) and a stylish design in simpler tones. The welcome is international and the staff speak English, French, Italian, and German. The hotel opens onto the courtyard around the swimming pool, where the friendly feel of the place is emphasised by the low guest capacity of the hotel and the design of the various spaces, both of which make it easier to meet other people staying here. The swimming pool is circular, and surrounded by menzel-style bungalows. Green plants and colourful bougainvilleas brighten up the white walls of the building. There is a bar serving food next to the swimming pool. Bear in mind that the building has only 1 storey but no lift, so if you have difficulty climbing stairs it is well worth reserving a ground floor room.
Food and drink
6.50/10
The main restaurant is to the left of reception and decorated in an original style featuring furniture made of wood and red fabric. Big picture windows overlooking the patio and swimming pool let light flow into the room. Meals are served as a buffet, and the dishes are set out on counters in an area further inside the dining room. We liked the idea of giving the buffet a 'separate' space, as this improves the appearance of the dining room itself. The restaurant serves international cuisine, and when the Tunisian themed evening is organised, women from Djerba are invited to prepare and bake bread in the traditional fashion for guests to taste. In summer, tables invade the outdoor terrace. The restaurant has a barbecue near the swimming pool for preparing summer grills. The main bar, set apart by its trendy and stylish decor, is to the left of reception, which has a large flat screen television showing music videos. Guests can either sit on the couches or on stools at the bar. The space is very well lit, with large picture windows providing a view of the swimming pool. Make sure you don't miss the little Moorish cafe to the right of reception on the way to the rooms. Sit back on the colourful cushions with a mint tea, or try smoking a hookah pipe while enjoying the view through the two windows.
Beach
6.50/10
The beach is certainly not the Petit Palais' main attraction, as it is both small and far from the hotel. However, it is private and reserved for guests only, and it gives you the comfort of knowing that if you really want to swim in the sea you can. Next to it, a beach bar on stilts serves grills and pizzas. It is a practical place for a drink or a bite to eat without having to walk all the way back to the hotel.
To know
The hotel is not on the seaside and the small beach is some distance away. To reach it, you have to cross a road and walk for about 10 minutes. Squeezed in between 2 other private beaches, it really isn't the strong point of the hotel, so it is just as well that the swimming pool is so pleasant. The hotel now also has a balneotherapy centre. The entire premises and facilities are new and modern, just like the rest of the hotel.
tennis, water skiing, aqua gym, aerobics, jet ski, dance, step, bums and tums, water-polo, surfing, sports
Whirlpool bath
advantage
The different ambiences and the modern decor

The Hasdrubal Thalassa Djerba is a facility with carefully chosen amenities: everything is there for the guests' comfort and tranquillity. An address to appreciate, preferably as a couple, to really enjoy the setting.
The enjoyable organised activities and entertainment and the good dining opportunities are the strong points of the Lookéa Cédriana. Children and adults will be happy.
Comfort, entertainment, sports, and gastronomy: at the Yadis Thalasso Golf, all ingredients are there to have excellent holidays. This is one of our favourite places in Djerba.
The Djerba Plaza is a well taken care of facility with quality amenities in a nice environment. A very good 4* that will attract demanding customers, couples or families.
A family club with leisure equipment, adapted for sports and relaxation, the Horizonte Meninx is recommended because of its all inclusive formula and its great beach.
A hotel without organised activities or entertainment, the Miramar César is for those who want quiet holidays, with adapted facilities but no excess.

The Hasdrubal Prestige is the most luxurious hotel in Djerba, but that is not the only reason to choose this establishment. It possesses a number of unique infrastructures, including its outdoor 'three waters' swimming-pool which features several pools filled with seawater, freshwater and thermal water. The hotel's thalassotherapy centre is also out of this world; it includes a glass-covered marine walkway, private cabins and bathtubs filled with seawater or freshwater, depending on the treatment you choose. It is preferable to come to see and experience this hotel in the off-season; it won't be too crowded and your booking will be a little cheaper.
