    Location 8.0 /10

The hotel is located in the north of the island of Euboea, some 15 mi from the town of Edipsos. Count on a transfer time of around three hours from Athens airport, including the boat journey.

    Accommodation 7.50 /10

The Club Med has 382 guest rooms and suites, housed in the large main building dating back to the 1970s and in the small bungalows dotted around the pine forest. All rooms are fully equipped, with amenities including a flat screen television, a safe and air conditioning, though not all of the rooms have a refrigerator. The decor is identical throughout, all rooms featuring modern furniture, a huge picture window and a large comfortable bed. The bungalows also have a furnished terrace where guests can enjoy the gardens. Hair dryers and small toiletries kit are provided in the marble bathrooms. Each room in the large 9 storey main building has its own balcony affording superb views across the Gulf of Euboea. There is also a series of traditionally Greek older bungalows featuring the traditional blue and white architecture of the country.

    Overview 7.50 /10

Set amid a huge tree-planted estate of nearly 50 acres, the Club Med is very proud of its location in one of the most beautiful spots on the island of Euboea. All of its facilities are centred around the main building, which means the rest of the grounds are unspoilt. The Club Med has a large infinity swimming pool supervised by lifeguards and surrounded by a hundred or so cushioned deck chairs, shaded from the sun's rays by pretty white parasols. Alongside you'll find a bar with its own sound system, serving drinks and snacks throughout the day that are more along the lines of petit-fours than a plate of chips.
When it comes to entertainment, this is certainly an area in which the Club Med excels, offering a very comprehensive programme of activities. Entertainment is organised by a team of 120 GOs, with a different show put on every evening in the brand new and specially designed amphitheatre. There is also a children's club, where children are divided into separate age groups and where they can play safely in the huge garden set amid the grounds and specially designed for this purpose.

    Food and drink 8.00 /10

Those who like eating well will love the Club Med, despite its 650 covers. The buffet serves a variety of high quality cuisine, such as Asian, Italian, Mediterranean and, of course, Greek stations, with a large choice of salad items and breads also available, including rye bread, cheesy bread and baguettes. It is also possible to watch the chefs preparing various grilled meat and fresh fish dishes as you look on hungrily. Don't forget to leave room for the irresistible little desserts on offer though! Once you've filled your plate you can take a seat under the trees and listen to the sound of the cicadas in the background gently rocking the canopy. Breakfast is served in the main building in the Acropole restaurant, a large and partially renovated room that opens out towards to the sea.

    Beach 8.50 /10

However hard you try, you'll find it hard to find anything to fault when it comes to the beach at the Club Med, a 15,5 mi long stretch of fine sand edged with calm, clear waters that are barely disturbed by the coming and going of the water-skiing boat. With almost 500 deck chairs arranged under parasols, you'll have no trouble finding a spot away from all the noise so you can almost feel like you're on a desert island. Particularly popular with guests, the large water sports centre offers a variety of activities, including catamaran trips and water-skiing, all of which are included in the price of your stay. Once you've had your fill of sporting activities, why not stretch out for a while in one of the hammocks you'll find amid the pine forest and let the sound of the cicadas rock you to sleep.

    To know

Guests arrive at the Club Med by boat where the 'Gentils Membres' ('Gracious Members') are greeted on the landing stage by the hotel's 'Gentils Organisateurs' ('Gracious Organisers') as music plays in the background. The water sports club also provides a ski escort! Check-in takes place onboard, so when you reach the resort all you have to do is drop off your luggage and start enjoying your holiday.
