In the heart of the searesort of Eilat, along the sea. Allow about 5 minutes for transfer from the airport. The hotel is located close to shopping centres, bars, restaurants and all the nocturnal animations of Eilat.
All the rooms of the Neptune overlook the sea and they offer a small balcony. Of a decent size, they offer full amenities: air-conditioning, telephone, satellite TV, safe and a mini-bar. The renovated rooms, located on the adjoining wing are the only rooms offering a modern ambiance. The other rooms have outdated decoration and definitely need some improvement. However, the bathrooms, equipped with a bathtub and a hair-dryer, have all been renovated. Room service is available 24 hours a day.
The Neptune is one of the oldest hotels of Eilat, a large 7 -level building shaped like a ''U'' and housing 278 rooms including 3 presidential suites and 31 junior suites. It has a large lobby, where you will find the reception, a bar and shops, three restaurants including two '' a la carte'', a night club and a small but amazing fitness centre, with apparatus for bodybuilding, jacuzzi, sauna, massage rooms. The outside space is divided between the large central swimming pool and the pool for children, both surrounded by deckchairs and a few palm trees. The area goes right on the cliff, and then on the semi-private beach of the hotel.
The main restaurant dining-room, located on the ground level of the building, offers kosher-buffets for breakfast and dinner. The setting and the cuisine are quite basic. If you want a more refined cuisine, you should go to one of the ''a la carte'' restaurants of the hotel: the ''Golden Duck'', offering Chinese and Thai dishes in a nice Asian area, or you can also try the Italian specialities restaurant. During the day, different snack-bars, located in the lobby, around the pool or the beach, serve simple dishes.
The Neptune is one of the rare hotels of Eilat offering direct access to the beach. Covered by sand and pebbles, the beach offers clear water and full facilities: deckchairs, sunshades, snack- bars... Water activities can be enjoyed at extra cost. Difficult, however, to find here a peaceful atmosphere because of the crowd and the loudspeakers that offer continous music.
The Hotel Neptune is an establishment belonging to the hotel chain Howard Johnson, very popular among the French clientele. Despite its old-looking appearance and outdated decoration, it offers a privileged setting on the oceanfront with direct access to the beach.

Despite the fact that it stands opposite the airport, for better or worse, the Astral Sea Side is nevertheless the only 4 star hotel in Eilat overlooking the beach. Having been newly renovated in 2008, the decor here is certainly modern, but you'll soon see beyond the surface the lack of finish underneath. The guest rooms are large and the facilities decent enough so the hotel does offer good value for money on the whole.

Watch out, you're about to fall in love! This hotel, the most charming in the city, is a real favourite! Contrary to the many enormous hotels found in the area, this establishment is made up of several smaller buildings peacefully nestled in amongst the well-maintained greenery on the hillside. The amenities in the guest rooms are fantastic, the services excellent, and the panoramic view from the swimming pool is truly unique... The only negative point is that you'll have to get used to the often noisy, incessant comings and goings of the electric cars that take guests to and from their rooms.
