The hotel opened fifty years ago but was entirely renovated in 2007. The walls in the reception are, in fact, adorned with various interesting black and white photographs depicting the history of the family and immortalizing the Formentera of yesteryear.
The hotel is moderate to large in size by the island's standards, though its concrete external facade is rather too austere to really show it for what it is. Having said that, once you step foot inside the reception you'll find the decor is modern and simple in terms of design making it just perfect for both young and not-so-young couples looking for a pleasant place to stay.
The main (and only) bar is located just beyond the reception area and is designed along the same stylish lines, with the bar itself dominating at the centre of the area and even featuring a special coffee machine for very strong espresso coffees. The bar area is furnished with a few armchairs and sofas, making it a great place to relax should the weather turn nasty or when it gets a bit nippy outside of an evening.
To the rear you'll find the main swimming pool which is overlooked by a few pine trees and elegantly surrounded by wooden slats which form a sunbathing terrace. The pool is relatively large given the size of the hotel and there is even a paddling pool for children. Also to the rear of the establishment you'll find a small private walkway leading down to the public beach.
