Built in the country's traditional style (red-tiled roofs and green-shuttered facades), the 9 storeys of Reid's are backed by the cliff dominating the port. The refined atmosphere of the lobby means it could easily be mistaken for an English hallway. To the right, the polished wooden reception desk; to the left, two wall-mounted armchairs; in the middle, an antique clock, counting the seconds that pass by in this serene atmosphere. Walk along the nicely finished corridors, past the lounges scattered with soft cushions and the veranda adorned with green plants, before opening onto the terrace which surrounds the two sea water swimming pools. The largest covering an area of 4,300 sq ft and the smaller 2,700 sq ft, these provide a welcoming relaxation area. Have a leisurely swim or relax on the terrace, with the sea as your backdrop. There is nothing to say about the facilities; everything is provided, from deckchairs to towels, including sun beds and parasols. The gardens and their significant contribution to the style of the hotel are also worth mentioning. Covering the foothills of the cliff with terraces connected to each other by winding paths, the gardens combine eucalyptus, dracaenas and palms with magnificent beds of birds of paradise. A true ode to the botanical wealth of Madeira!
There is also a building devoted to well-being, with a splendid relaxation terrace overlooking the bay. The spa uses products by the "La Prairie" and "Ytsara" brands, among others. It consists of five treatment rooms, including one for couples. The fitness room features very high quality "Cybex" equipment.
