From the outside, there is nothing that really catches the eye about the Kernos Beach, its brown brick buildings making for a rather unattractive block, at odds with the local style. However, once inside, this very same building seems to click with the well-maintained vegetation, blending in with the brown ochre mountains in the background. You are guaranteed to feel the change of scenery in this arid setting. There is also a little Cretan-style square surrounded by plane trees where you can relax with a Cretan coffee or a glass of Ouzo, whilst those prefer to keep active might prefer to head to the swimming pool, which overlooks the sea and is accompanied by a smaller pool for children. There is not a great deal of communal space in the hotel buildings, and even the tastefully-decorated lobby is particularly small. Having said that, there are two tennis courts, as well as a rather shabby mini-golf course and a little lounge to play cards in.
