    Location 6.5 /10

The Paradisier is located on Ifaty beach. This is one of the first hotels coming from Tulear. Ifaty is located 45 minutes by car from Tulear.

    Accommodation 8.70 /10

20 bungalows and a suite are connected by stone paths: 10 of them are older and have a sundeck, a big bed or two beds on the ground level and 2 small beds on the first level, the 10 newer bungalows face Mozambique canal, and have a small bedroom on the ground level and a larger bedroom on the first floor. The 10 newer bungalows have a lounge area and are decorated by stones from the village, raffia and rosewood. The bedspreads are patchwork. The bathroom is located on the ground level, behind the fixed room divider, and has a shower. The toilets are separate. The 1st level is lined with bay-windows and have a panoramic view of the sea and the woods. The rooms don't have electrical outlets, ventilation or a mini-bar. But they have a safe box.

    Overview 8.70 /10

Constructed in 1985, the Paradisier was completed in 1999, initiated by the owner, an Alsatian gentleman. In its main chalet, the Paradisier houses the reception area, a lounge-room beside the restaurant, in the front of the bay-windows overlooking the sea. The very nice longe area is decorated with rattan seating, covered by white cushions. The Paradisier boasts an overflow pool, two outdoor massage rooms on the beach under the sundeck. Walk in the pirogue, or in the baobab forest, go snorkeling, diving, fishing...all these are offered.

    Food and drink 8.20 /10

The restaurant, bordered by bay-windows, overlooks a small sundeck that also overlooks the sea. A romantic setting... the restaurant is renowned. It can accommodate up to 50 guests. For every meal, it offers a different menu with multiple choices: exotic salads, marinated fish, zebu brochette, chopped duck fillet with green pepper, jam jelly roll, papaya nuts, pineapple in red wine... The products offered are fresh. The cuisine is refined. It is manly inspired by French cuisine but it also offers local dishes from time to time. A snack service operates outside meal hours. The wines offered are Malagasy and South-African.

    Beach 7.70 /10

Despite the cleaning of the beach every morning, there are seaweeds on the beach, but the hotel is very pleasant.
