The Kalamaki Beach will surprise you with its charm. However, at first sight, this hotel built in the 1970s does not stand out because of the quality of its architecture, decoration or furnishings. However, the general atmosphere of the peninsula where the hotel is perched and the absolutely beautiful panorama of the Gulf of Corinth, visible from all the rooms, make it an ideal place to stay for those who want to sightsee in the region.

    Location 7.0 /10

The hotel and its garden border the sea, at the very spot where the mouth of the old port of Corinth once stood, 4 miles from the famous canal that actually turned the Peloponnese peninsula into an island, located on the road to the former theater of Epidaurus, and only 53 miles from Athens.

    Accommodation 7.00 /10

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The decoration is basic, the furniture is made of wood, the floor is tiled. Every other year, a handful of faithful guests return to relax for a week or two. All 75 rooms have a balcony with a table and two chairs, a refrigerator and air conditioning (switched on with the first heat wave). The television broadcasts local channels but also foreign channels too. Finally, the bathrooms are all equipped with a large bathtub, hair dryer and personal toiletries. There are two rooms per floor and each has three beds; single rooms are located on the half-floors (small and without a balcony).

    Overview 7.20 /10

The Kalamaki was built in the 1970s and fully renovated (the living spaces and rooms) for the Athens Olympic Games in 2003. The living areas are spacious and bright. Because of its geographical location, the 3-storey building of 75 rooms (4 family rooms) have a magnificent view onto the sea, facing the old port of Corinth, near the Saronic Gulf. The park (50 acres), which opens onto the terrace of the restaurant, is well maintained. It is here, away from big hotel infrastructures, that the peace and the setting create a very pleasant place. Surrounded on all sides by the sea, you will be mesmerized by the skyline or the crest of mountain range that rises far beyond the gulf.

    Food and drink 7.20 /10

The relatively small size of the hotel allows for good quality cuisine, true to the hotel's category. The main restaurant has a capacity of 150 seats. A buffet, Greek and international, is served both in the morning and in the evening. An a la carte menu is offered at noon. During the high season, a snack bar is open all summer (from the middle of June to late September) near the swimming pool.

    Beach 6.50 /10

The beach is relatively large and very pleasant. As in all of this area of Greece, the sand is not quite fine but the sea has made pebbles so smooth that you can walk barefoot along the water. Booths with wooden doors, showers and deck chairs are made available to customers. A large lawn terrace has been added to increase the space for deck chairs.

    To know

In the garden you will find vestiges of the port of Kehries where Saint Paul came to preach, a stage in the pilgrimage known as "in the footsteps of Saint Paul". The hotel provides access to its facilities for visitors wishing to take advantage of the setting, the swimming pool, the garden ... (? 7 per day).
Please note that the sailing club operates in July and August.

    Entertainment
The Kalamaki beach is a residence hotel and therefore the activities and entertainment are not very intense, consisting of an evening performance of folklore, once a week, and a few sport tournaments. A kid's club for children aged 4-12 years is run by a young French woman, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
