Open since December 2006, the Rummana Boutique Resort is located in a calm spot, on the beach of Lamai. Additionally, it is close to the famous "Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks" or "Hin Ta Hin Yai" in Thai. The place is nice and will pleased people looking to relax.

The Rummana is located on the east side of Koh Samui island, along the beach of Lamai. The airport is 11 miles away, a thirty minute drive. 11 miles away from Nathon.
The 40 bungalows of the Rummana are all scattered in the garden. The rooms are a beautiful surprise! The rooms combine contemporary Thai and Balinese style. The colourful decor, seventies style provide a cheerful feel to the room: pink walls, yellow pillows, maroon, red... Concering the accommodation, there is nothing to complain about: television, air conditioning, safe, mini-bar with tea and coffee set, direct international line and room service from 7 am to 11 pm. As for the bathroom, a real success. It has been designed as an internal garden, with a path adorned with slabs, surrounded by round stones. The bathroom is also very colourful and nice to enjoy. A hair dryer and welcoming products are available.
The Rummana is a boutique hotel. By definition, it is not very large. It is built lengthwise: there are 426 feet between the reception and the beach. When we arrived, we were a little disappointed by the lobby. A pink bench acts as a sitting area facing the two dark wooden desks. However, the entire space is surrounded by a magnificent fountain of water lilies. After passing the entrance of the hotel, a long path hidden in the vegetation adorned with small wooden bridges and frog fountains lead to the sea, where the pool is located. It is a small pool in the shape of the number eight, with a small waterfall. However, the deckchairs should be replaced.
The hotel's spa has four treatment rooms with double beds for couples. The products used are all coconut and banana based, nutritious fruits for the skin.
The Rummana has only one restaurant open for the three meals of the day from 7 am to 11 pm. The Horapa offers fine Thai cuisine as well as international cuisine. It operates as a buffet for breakfast. However, if there are less than 10 occupied rooms, breakfast will be served a la carte. The setting is very pleasant: the restaurant is located next to the pool and facing the beach. You can eat your dish inside, in an air conditioned room or on the outdoor terrace, protected by a wooden pergola.
The establishment is not located on the beach as beaches in Thailand are all public. On the other hand, the beach is filled with deckchairs. Lamai Beach is a much calmer and less frequented spot than Chaweng Beach. Since it is located on the beach, the Rummana benefits from the calm of the place. You will not be bothered by street vendors all day long. The sand is soft, the water is clear and the current is not very strong in this place.
The hotel does not have sporting equipment. On the other hand, you will be able to find this type of equipment on the beach.

Not far from Lamai, the Renaissance is one of the luxurious establishments owned by the international Marriott brand, bathing in elegance and distinction. Admittedly, this is a classy hotel, and that's despite the fact that due to its American origins, the reception area is a mixture of all the stereotypes that Westerners entertain about Thailand. With its fountain decorated with flowers, its pointy roof and its little wooden statues of monkeys, no stereotype has been spared! Surprisingly enough, these different elements come together to create some degree of harmony. The Renaissance is located in a sprawling estate, and has everything you might expect from this kind of establishment, which we believe is a good thing. The Thai chef who runs the Thai restaurant here constitutes another of the hotel's advantages, since he's one of the best there is.
The Nora Beach is a Thai hotel complex and it's hard to imagine that it could exist in any other country. Its main asset is without a doubt its interior decor, based on the Thai theme. From the Lanna-style pavilion boasting fine architectural qualities in which it welcomes its guests, to the bungalows dotted about a tropical garden, the Nora Beach has made the best of its assets, while remaining in an intermediate category. Seemingly designed to cater more for couples than families (hence the lack of facilities for children), the complex is located in the Northern part of Chaweng, which is a lot more tranquil and less crowded than the centre of Chaweng Beach.
This complex, nestled in one of Lamai Beach's bays, is defined by its elegant simplicity. The warm tone of the wood and the green bamboo are the dominant features, making for a calm and very oriental setting. You will have already gathered that this is a luxury establishment. Calm and tranquillity are the key features of this discrete hotel, and it's beginning to attract a very loyal clientele.
Once inside reception at the X2 Resort, you get the feeling of being in another world. You will find yourself in an open structure where design is key and where wood is the dominant feature, with cement flooring and no signs of Thaï architecture. The effect is really pleasant. Spacious, boasting refined and modern lines, the X2 Resort does not go unnoticed. This hotel opened in 2008 but salt has already starting to corrode the building, and it shows.
Open from 1st February 2007, the Four Seasons Koh Samui is worth the reputation of the hotel chain with the same name. Isolated on the top of a hill, the establishment is far from civilisation. The setting is splendid and the impressive view is on the Gulf of Thailand. Delicacy and elegance are the keywords of the place. To taste with delight!

Why? First, because design is very uncommon in this region that is distinguished by its Oriental Zen style, at least in the hotels. Second, because those who feel comfortable surrounded by clean lines, solid colours, and a full complement of modern technology, will have found the establishment of their dreams here.
