At the heart of an immense 271-acre property, the Meridien Nirwana is a high standard hotel with top of the range facilities. The hotel benefits from an extraordinary location, opposite Tanah Lot temple and away from the major tourist zones in the south of the island. The area is known throughout the island for its magnificent sunsets with the temple as a backdrop. The buildings, modern in architectural style, lack some authenticity. However, the simple lines and the beauty of the park combine to help forget this minor inconvenience. In order to make up for not being able to bathe in the sea, the hotel has a huge lagoon, including artificial beaches, waterfalls, slides, jacuzzi and terrace pools. Ground-based facilities are numerous and recently supplied: spa, jacuzzi, tennis, an excellent kids club with a large outdoor games area, vast gym etc. One of the other major points of the hotel is the superb 18-hole golf course designed by Greg Norman. The golf course stretches behind the buildings, in the middle of coconut plantations and terraced rice-fields. In short, this is an attractive hotel with 278 bedrooms, where the main fault is perhaps the size of the complex and the somewheat "international" bill.
