Who hasn't heard of the Bellagio, the hotel made famous worldwide thanks to the film Ocean's Eleven? This imposing building is really something special and is even more impressive by night, when it is illuminated by its dancing fountains. Decorated in a typical Italian Renaissance style, taste and class are what this hotel-casino is all about, and, come nightfall, the dancing fountains are not to be missed!

    Location 9.72 /10

The Bellagio hotel is located right at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, with scenery as disorientating as Caesar's Palace to one side and the Paris hotel with its Eiffel Tour directly opposite. To the right of the hotel, however, you will see the building site of Vegas's brand new development, the City Center, with cranes and site vehicles taking up residence until it is finished.

    Accommodation 8.45 /10

The Bellagio boasts more than 3,900 rooms, including 512 suites, which are not exclusively reserved for gamblers. Anyone can enjoy the luxury of a suite as there are plenty to go round. The rooms at the Bellagio offer a real taste of classical and sophisticated Italian design, the decor providing a touch of bygone luxury with a hint of design and modernity here and there. The shades used are nevertheless very dark, with browns, beiges, blacks and oranges. From the vases and lamps to the fabrics, no detail has been overlooked, everything has been subtly arranged and matched. The Italian marble walls in the bathrooms have even been adorned with beautiful tapestries. Bathrooms include both a bathtub and a shower, as well as beauty products specially designed for the Bellagio. All rooms have a television, a safe, a DVD and CD player, an iPod docking station, a mini-bar, air-conditioning and Wi-Fi Internet connection. Another small detail: the blinds and draperies are controlled automatically! As for the suites, they are larger and have a lounge area for relaxing as well as LCD screens in the bathrooms. Some of the suites have two bathrooms with a whirlpool bath, one of them being the Bellagio Suite. The Penthouse Suite also has cooking facilities, with a kitchenette and a bar. Check-in and check-out for such rooms takes place in a different lobby. It is worth remembering that maid service is provided twice a day in all rooms and suites.

    Overview 8.70 /10

This is a hotel whose very name fuels curiosity! It was made ultra-famous by the film Ocean's Thirteen in which Brad Pitt and George Clooney admire the Bellagio fountains. One of the few 5* hotels on the Strip, the Bellagio commands respect through its sheer elegance and architecture. Make the most of your visit to the hotel by first strolling along the pine tree-lined promenade and take in the spectacle that is the dancing fountains. One of the jewels of Las Vegas, you could be forgiven for thinking you were in Lake Como, Italy. Indeed, Bellagio is actually the name of a small village located on the shores of Lake Como. Once the magic of the fountains has died down, slip inside and explore the magnificent botanical garden, where the theme of the decor and the flowers changes every season.
On entering the lobby, make sure you take the time to admire the fabulous floral ceiling composition of blown-glass, a creation by American artist Dale Chihuly, incorporating 2,000 flowers blown in multicoloured glass. It's guaranteed to blow you away! The Bellagio is very arts-focused and boasts one of the largest art galleries in Las Vegas (entrance fee applies), featuring paintings and sculptures by some of the greatest artists.
After this cultural interlude, what better than to take a dip in one of the hotel's swimming pools. The pool area is located in a Renaissance garden where much-needed summer shade is provided by olive, lemon, orange and pine trees and a touch of elegance is added by the various fountains, archways and small booths. If you fancy a swim, there are 2 large pools and 3 smaller ones to choose from, but then you may prefer to stick to the whirlpool baths dotted around the pools. For a little more privacy, private cabins are available to hire, whilst massages are given at the edge of the pool for the ultimate in relaxation.
The relaxation doesn't have to end when the pool closes though; just head for the spa, one of the largest in the world it would seem, with no fewer than 32 massage rooms and 50 treatment rooms where Ayurvedic treatments, shiatsu, Thai massages and yoga are available, not forgetting light therapy! The beauty products used have been specially designed for the Bellagio..
When night falls, why not take in the Cirque du Soleil production, "O". Acrobats, synchronised swimmers and divers put on a magical aquatic show which will both dazzle and refresh. The hotel has various bars, each with its own ambience, for you to make the most of your evening, before or after the show. With live music, a dancefloor and a view overlooking the Eiffel Tower and the lake, what better way to spend a wonderful evening. The Petrossian Bar, as its name would suggest, offers a true taste of Russian culture, with vodka, caviar and cigars to be enjoyed in moderation. By day, though, the place becomes a tea room.

    Food and drink 8.95 /10

If there's one thing you should know about the Bellagio it's that you certainly won't starve to death here! A total of 19 restaurants pull out all the stops to offer the best in world cuisine, some very sophisticated indeed. Le Cirque serves traditional French cuisine with touches of originality in colourful and cheerful surroundings, whilst Circo, still along the 'circus' lines, upholds the tradition of a large Tuscan family where mamma's recipes are lovingly and respectfully prepared. For a complete change of scenery, take a step into the surrealist world of Picasso and sample the Franco-Spanish cuisine of Spanish chef, Julian Serrano, surrounded by countless of the artist's works. In actual fact, the chef draws his inspiration from the cuisine of the French and Spanish regions in which Pablo Picasso lived. Wine-lovers will also be particularly pleased with the wine cellar and its thousand bottle treasure trove. For a more innovative concept, get yourself a table at Sensi, where the cuisine consists of Asian, Italian and American fish and seafood-based dishes. The chef here has no secrets - everything is prepared before your very eyes. If you would like to dine where stars such as Di Caprio enjoy authentic American dishes, try Fix. Its Grand Canyon-style decor consists of omnipresent wood imported from Costa Rica and provides the perfect setting for getting to grips with real American cuisine. You will find various other a la carte restaurants nestled within the hotel, serving everything from Japanese, Chinese, Hong Kong and Vietnamese cuisine to Mediterranean dishes and steakhouses. The choice is yours! For those on a tight budget though, try the buffet. This consists of various smaller rooms as opposed to one large canteen-style room and provides a very intimate, pleasant place to eat. Those dining alone may prefer to take a seat at the bar, which is nicer than sitting alone at a table. A champagne brunch is also served on weekends. You will also find a multitude of cafes, ice cream parlours and other snack outlets scattered throughout the hotel and pastry-lovers really should visit the patisserie of Jean Philippe before they leave. The latter is a superb and very well-known pastry chef and as a treat for both the eyes and the taste buds, you are invited to sample his chocolates, biscuits, macaroons and cakes every day. The chocolate fountain at the entrance to the shop will also prove hard to resist for both the eyes and the appetite!

    To know

The Bellagio boasts a magnificent botanical garden, housed in a conservatory and changed every season - spring, summer, autumn, Christmas, and Chinese New Year it is decorated with red lanterns. The plants and flowers on display come from all over the world, as do the people who come to admire them!

As one of the very first casino-hotels of the avenue, the Flamingo hotel is a true institution on the Strip. Its crowning glory is its cool and tranquil tropical gardens, where pink flamingos nonchalantly strut about and the new 'sexy' Flamingo Go guest rooms are also well worth a mention as they are amazing and ideal for a stay in Vegas.

There's no need to get out your Indiana Jones costume at the Luxor: the treasure was discovered long ago! On arrival, you will be transported into the mythical world of Cleopatra and the pharaohs. Fans of this period of history (young and old alike) are sure to be swept away by the Luxor's decor, although some might find the kitsch aspect of it a bit too much.

This is probably not the castle of your dreams, but your children will love the place. The first word that comes to mind is 'kitsch'. So if ' kitsch' is your thing, when you step inside you won't be disappointed. At night time, when it is all lit up though, the castle does seem a little less kitsch and really looks quite nice. Hey, you're in Vegas after all!

With a touch of nostalgia for days gone by, when Indochina and hedonism ruled, this is the ideal place for a few days away in the city of excess (and sin!). The chic, classy Mandalay Bay hotel embodies the charm of southern Asia, its imposing frame home to a shark reef and various aquariums, among other things. When it comes to relaxation, you'll find the pool here claims to be the most beautiful in all of Vegas, and the hotel even has its very own artificial beach.

This boutique hotel is an attractive option for those looking for some peace and quiet in this swarming city (and yes, Las Vegas can seem a real jungle for some visitors!). Luxury in its purest form is basically what you'll find here. The bonus will definitely be the breathtaking view from the 64th floor, where Vegas will be at your feet, making it easy to master the city.

A discreet hotel in the city of excess, difficult to imagine but not something to scoff at. Here, at the heart of the local bedlam, reigns an oasis of calm and Zen. Nobu Matsuhisa and Robert de Niro, his perpetual accomplice, have joined forces for an attempt at their very first hotel. A master stroke? Not far off.
You just need to follow the beautiful backlit onyx sign at Caesars Palace to leave the clicking of its slot machines and the shouts of the craps players behind and enter into the peaceful world of the Nobu. At a small reception, a personable young man or a woman will greet you, check you in on his or her iPad and then off you go to the upper floors in an upholstered lift, with Japanese fabrics of course. A quick history lesson for those that haven't heard of Nobu. He is one of the most famous restaurant owners in the world. Curiously not in France though, where the cash flow for the Nobu restaurant in Paris was exhausted by its partners, including a famous television presenter, forcing it to close very quickly. Elsewhere (London, Dubai, Hong Kong, New York etc.), Nobu has been a roaring success with his recipes inspired from a blend of Japanese cuisine and American fusion food. Delicious, healthy and original. Nobu's partner is Robert de Niro himself. He is also the co-founder of their first hotel, which is designed to offer all the refinement and originality of Nobu's lifestyle. To do so, they have 'Japanified' one of the towers of Caesars Palace.
