The 5 star Roc de Caldes is a real haven of peace and is our favourite in its category. Everything is perfect, from the welcome and the facilities through to the gourmet cuisine! This establishment has only 45 rooms and the advantage of being a moderate size is that as a guest, you are not likely to get lost in a maze of corridors. With its charm and luxury facilities, the Roc de Caldes will suit even the most demanding of visitors.

    Location 5.77 /10

The 5 star Roc de Caldes is located on the slopes of the town of Escaldes de Engordany.

    Accommodation 8.70 /10

The guest rooms are all very spacious and every last detail has been seen to so as to make sure nothing, least of all your comfort, goes to chance. Most of them measure 30m˛ and have a view over the Andorran valley that is best enjoyed from the big sunny terrace. The facilities are second to none and include the newest of flat screen televisions with satellite channels and a DVD player. The light colour scheme of the decor is also very stylish. The furnishing includes a king size bed and a lounge area with a coffee table, comfy armchairs, and a desk. The colour of the furniture and the paintings on the walls add a touch of cheerfulness to the room. The bathrooms are also fully deserving of their 5 star rating, with a jacuzzi, bathrobes, a complete set of hospitality products, slippers, and so on. Everything has been designed so that from the moment you arrive, you will feel as though nothing has been overlooked.

    Overview 9.20 /10

Upon entering the Roc de Caldes, you find yourself in a large reception room. To the left is the reception desk where you check in upon arrival, and just next to it is a little lounge area, in case you have to wait. This hall is stylish and spacious, and as the central point around which the rest of the establishment's facilities are organised, it gives you a taste of what is to come. On the first floor, there is a piano bar where you can relax with a drink to the sound of live music. The decor in this part of the hotel is pretty impressive; the Scottish rug on the floor and the dark wooden counter bring to mind the interior of an English pub. It is a nice place to go with a book or have a chat before heading to the restaurant. If your visit to Andorra is aimed at relaxation and well-being, the Roc de Caldes has a large space dedicated to these pursuits. There is a splendid swimming pool in a big glass building allowing you to admire the landscapes outside while you swim. The water is temperature-controlled, so you can swim all year round. Downstairs, there is a jacuzzi, a hammam and, of course, ice water showers. With a bit of luck, you'll be able to spend some time in the hotel's solarium, a huge terrace overlooking the whole of the Andorran valley. In addition to these facilities, the hotel has an Internet area that can be used free of charge, so as not to completely lose touch with the outside world... Last but not least, the establishment is surrounded by a beautiful garden, a nice place for a stroll or just to get some fresh air. It is hard to imagine anywhere closer to paradise than this peaceful setting.

    Food and drink 8.70 /10

The restaurant, "El Jardín de Hoste", boasts an exceptional location thanks to its panoramic view. The chef, Mr. Mimoun, learned his trade from several French chefs and prepares dishes displaying a combination of influences. In addition to a menu of exotic and healthy dishes, a typical Catalan menu is available. The range of different flavours is amazing, and even the breakfast products are chosen for their freshness and flavour...

Most of the guests staying here are regulars who return every year, so it is well worth reserving in advance, especially if you are planning your holiday around the busier seasons (July to August and the winter).
