    Location 6.5 /10

The Novotel Lyon Confluence is located at the heart of Lyon's new district, Confluence, which is mid-way between the Saône and the Rhône rivers. It is close to several places of interest, such as Place Carnot, the Fabrics Museum, and Place Bellecour, but also St. John's Cathedral and Terreaux Square. The Novotel Lyon Confluence is easily accessible via the A6/A7 motorway and is located just 250m from the Lyon-Perrache railway station. From here you can take tram T1 to the Hôtel de Région Montrochet; from Place Bellecour, take the S1 bus towards La Confluence. In other words, it is not far from the city centre and, just opposite its entrance, a vaporetto gives you the opportunity the cruise along the Saone to the city centre.

The hotel is also connected to the new Lyon Confluence Shopping Centre, which has entertainment and shopping areas. This hotel is part of an urban planning project called Lyon Confluence, which should also soon boast a new museum and large-scale contemporary architectural projects.

    Accommodation 8.70 /10

The hotel has 150 guest rooms divided into three categories: 134 superior rooms, 9 executive rooms and 3 suites. The standard-superior rooms measure around 26m² while the executive rooms cover about 40m².

Every room has a bathroom equipped with a toilet and a shower or a bathtub, plus a complete set of hospitality products and a hair-dryer. The rooms are soundproofed, equipped with air-conditioning and all have good lighting which is activated using your keycard. Plus, they are all full of multi-functional technology: a 32-inch television (with international channels), Wi-Fi Internet access, a multi-function socket adapted for various electronic appliances, a mini-bar, a small fridge, a safe and a small Nespresso coffee machine. Comfortable beds, a small desk and a sofa make up the furniture. Moreover, some of the rooms are adjoining thanks to a door between them; an option that is particularly popular with families since there is a 50% reduction in the rate of the second room. The latest generation rooms have glass walls, and thus no real separations. However, if you would like a little privacy, you just have to press a button to tint the glass!

    Overview 8.45 /10

The Novotel Lyon Confluence opened its doors on 21 March 2012. It was designed by architect Jean-Paul Viguier (the same architect who designed the structure next door, the Lyon Confluence Shopping Centre). You will find the common areas on the second floor: the entrance hall, the Lounge Bar (the central area of the hotel, it is decorated with bright and attractive colours and has glass balls suspended from the ceiling that give it a sort of contemporary style) and the spacious and bright restaurant, where shades of red, black and grey have been combined to create a sophisticated and contemporary decor. A large terrace with a view of the Saône can be accessed from the Lounge Bar and the restaurant. On the same floor, just next to the lobby, there is a small games room for children and a space equipped with two computers for guests to use. The third floor has a gym open from 7:00am to 9:00pm where you will find treadmills, steppers, stationery bicycles, Swiss balls, etc. The top floors hold the 150 latest generation rooms (138 superior, 9 executive and 3 suites). The hotel also has a car park (which can accommodate up to 50 cars) for both guests and their guests.
