    Location

At the foot of the historic Las Ventas bullring in Madrid, the location is a little remote but the Las Ventas metro station in front of the hotel means you can be in the city centre in 10 minutes. The airport of Madrid is located just 6 mi away and should take about 20 minutes to reach.

    Accommodation 7.45 /10

Fitted with parquet flooring, the guest rooms have a surface area of 16.38m², to be very precise, and are modern, functional and smartly appointed. They include a small desk and a small bench designed for you to put your luggage on, a view overlooking the Las Ventas bullring (from most of the rooms) through the large bay window (there are no balconies), a wardrobe to hang up your clothes in and a beautiful mirror. Come evening you can relax in a large cosy bed (1.6 x 2m) and fall sleep watching the flat-screen LCD television (BBC World or CNN anyone?). All of the guest rooms are off course air-conditioned. However, there is no safe (but there is one at reception), no refrigerator and no room service. The roomy bathroom includes a shower with a flexible showerhead, a shower gel dispenser on the wall, a toilet and a hair-dryer. 5 superior rooms located at the top of the building have a terrace, 8 are communicating and 21 triple rooms are particularly recommended for families.

    Overview 6.95 /10

The 7-storey modern building is not exactly the picture of charm from the outside, but the inside is simply splendid, having benefited from a renovation to meet the standards of the new generation of Ibis hotels. Stylish and contemporary, the reception in the lobby boasts fluorescent lighting and a very modern bar. Opened in April 2012, the Ibis Madrid Centro las Ventas has 111 functional and pleasant guest rooms.

    Food and drink 7.20 /10

The Ibis Madrid Centro Las Ventas does not have its own restaurant but it does have a snack bar that is open 24/7, which is pretty good! Plus, you just have to step outside the hotel to see the number of restaurants you have to choose from in front of you. Breakfast, enjoyed to the view of the Las Ventas bullring, is served from 6:30am to 10:30am (and until midday at the weekend) in the form of a copious, good-quality buffet where local specialities are part of the offering, such as gazpacho for example. Of course, you will also find the traditional croissants, pain au chocolat, fruit salads, cakes, cereals, yoghurt, cooked meats, cheese, toast, orange juice and apple juice. However, don't count on having any hot options (omelettes, sausages, etc.) because there aren't any.

    To know

The Wi-Fi Internet connection in the guest rooms (to check your e-mail and surf the Internet) is free, which is practical if you have your laptop with you. However, there is a rate system (£4/24h) if you plan on using a higher speed for downloads, for example. A computer is also available in the lobby for guests to use. The hotel has a paid car park. There are 3 rooms designed to accommodate guests with reduced mobility. For fans of bullfighting, the Las Ventas bullring is a top spot in the world of bullfighting.
