The Grupotel Valparaiso Palace was built in 1974 and completely renovated in 2004. It has 174 guest rooms overlooking Palma bay and the wooded residential neighbourhood of Bonanova. An immense, sparkling chandelier lights up the spacious and luxurious entrance hall, highlighting the contrasts between the plain black marble and the dark wood of the reception counter. The two immense outdoor swimming pools are surrounded by various kinds of palms and orange trees, and there is also an Andalusia-style snack bar nearby. The 2,500 m² Nayara Spa was entirely renovated in 2005, and now consists of an immense aquatic area, 12 treatment rooms offering reflexology and other treatments, a relaxation area, a shop selling Thalgo beauty products, a gym and a vitamin bar. If you like playing tennis or paddle, which seems to be all the rage in this part of the world, the hotel has several courts, which are free to access. The Conde-Duque bar is impressively decorated in an English style with prints of famous Rembrandt paintings, and has a sophisticated, refined atmosphere.
