    Location 6.5 /10

Located in Montreal's business centre, the hotel offers direct access to the underground (no need to go out) and there is a bus (747) that goes directly to the airport from right outside the hotel. This downtown location is great for both businessmen and tourists, who will find themselves equidistant from Old Montreal, the Quartier des spectacles entertainment district and Mount Royal.

    Accommodation 8.20 /10

Understated but ultra-chic, the guest rooms are divided into a large number of categories. While the lowest category offers a decent-sized room but nothing exceptional, the suites are very spacious and have several rooms. Carpeting, quality materials, high-tech equipment, exceptional bedding: guests will be hard pushed to find something to complain about in terms of comfort. Only the bathrooms could be more spacious, more modern and more comfortable, but this is their only downside.

    Overview 8.70 /10

Since 1958, the Queen Elisabeth hotel has always been an elegant and romantic hotel for celebrities in the heart of the city. Standing 21 floors high, which was a feat at the time, the hotel was built above the central train station and was once managed by the Hilton chain.
The immense hall where reception is found is bigger than a Canadian football field and the space is organised such that guests checking in do not come across the numerous delegates. This gigantic hotel has 1,200 guest rooms.
A number of lifts lead to the floors below where guests can take advantage of the spa, the gym, the pool, the hairdressing salon and the central train station. The upper floors are lined with long, long corridors that lead to the rooms.

    Food and drink 9.45 /10

The Montréalais restaurant is open for the three meals of the day. Breakfast is extremely generous and colourful. In a friendly and cosy ambiance where wood reigns supreme, the meals are served à la carte except for the first meal of the day. Lunch is quite light, as is the custom on the American continent. Dinner on the other hand features a richly varied menu full of local cuisine.
The Voyageur is the hotel's lounge bar. Guests can enjoy a fine whisky or an after-dinner liquor in its old leather armchairs.
In 1958, the hotel revived the Beaver Club, an elite club that required the unanimous vote of the other members in order for a new member to be admitted. In the good old days, this club had 900 members. Today, it is no longer a private cub, but a restaurant that offers fine local cuisine. Recognised as a gourmet restaurant, it deserves its ranking as one of the city's best.

    Spa 7.95 /10

p>The hotel has a relaxation and wellness area. The very well equipped gym, worthy of a fitness club, is filled with businessmen and tourists in the early hours of the morning suffering from jet lag. Although, it is more motivating to work out with others than to slog away alone on your rowing machine, bike or treadmill. Adjacent to this gym is a lovely pool, 12m long by 6m wide, a children's pool, a Jacuzzi and a hammam. Apart from the pool (open from 6:00am to 10:00pm), the other facilities are open to guests around the clock.

Guests can enjoy a massage, pamper themselves with beauty treatments and get a new haircut at the Gibson Spa. This salon is managed by an outside company but is just next to the gym. Though less luxurious than the rest of the hotel, it complements the hotel's services and is highly appreciated by guests.

    To know

700 employees work at this Fairmount.
The hotel has installed 6 beehives to pollinate its rooftop garden. This space is not open to guests but when visits are organised, in small groups, it is a very interesting experience. A vegetable garden that overlooks the entire city with a superb view. Edible flowers, vine spinach and chili peppers, as well as nearly 21 species of tomatoes grow in this small vegetable garden used for the sole purpose of adding flavour to your food.
The guest room that holds the most attraction is certainly the one in which John Lennon and Yoko Ono stayed in 1969 during their protests against the Vietnam War. They stayed in Suite 1742 for a week during their famous Bed-in. Visiting celebrities come to pay homage to the ex-Beatle who wrote and recorded the famous peace anthem 'Give Peace a Chance' right in this room. Although they are certainly the guests who attracted the most media attention, a large number of other celebrities have stayed here as well, mostly heads of State.
An eco-friendly establishment, the Queen Elizabeth leaves nothing to chance when it comes to waste processing, energy and recycling. A number of measures are taken to follow in line with a sustainable development approach.
The hotel takes part in a food redistribution programme which sends unused food to food banks daily.
A jogging club and a walking club organise outings twice a week. There is no use in hiding behind the excuse that you have forgotten your sports wear since you can rent everything you need from the hotel, from shorts to trainers! For those who prefer pedalling, guests can rent bicycles.

Very modern, this Novotel stands out because of its contemporary style and well-deserved 4 stars. The very comfortable rooms and the tasty albeit expensive cuisine served at the restaurant are just two of the hotels advantages in addition to its ideal location: opposite the ice-rink where the hockey matches take place! Puck lovers will be delighted!
