At the heart of the Quartier des Spectacles entertainment district, the Zero 1 has an urban and modern style yet attracts more of a business clientèle than holidaymakers. Nevertheless, tourists will feel at home with their personal kitchenettes and the contemporary style.

Location
8.6/10
Located at the crossroads of boulevard Réné-Lévesque and boulevard Saint-Laurent, the Zero 1 is in the entertainment district, on the doorstep of Chinatown. An ideal location during the festival season.
Accommodation
7.20/10
164 modern and functional guest rooms, simply and very tastefully furnished. Among these guest rooms are the suites. More spacious, as their name suggests, the suites have a lounge area that is separate from the bedroom area. Perfect for having visitors to your room without worrying about them sitting on your pillow. Like all hotels, the higher up you are, the better the view. Just as, the lower you are, the more noise filters in from the street. The beds are extremely comfortable and will send even insomniacs into the land of dreams. The bedrooms are not very large but they are very functional. The very clean bathrooms are equipped with the minimum and decorated in a modern, all-white style. Little notices here and there remind you not to waste water. The distinctive feature of the guest rooms in this hotel is that they are equipped with a kitchenette (microwave, fridge, coffee-maker) to make life easier for tourists and businessmen.
Overview
7.20/10
Behind this modern façade is a long, contemporary-style lobby with a big leather bench seat. However, the overall feel is cold and lacks human warmth. A wooden terrace is furnished with modern looking plastic chairs, coloured transparent tables, and big benches, and although it is only used for a few weeks of the year it offers a pleasant and well-positioned spot for a snooze in the sunshine or a relaxing afternoon. In addition to this outside area, the hotel has a small interior courtyard, nicely laid out in the middle of the building, opposite reception. Although it is charming and furnished with modern furniture, it doesn't receive any sunlight. In winter, there is only the lobby, which feels slightly empty and cold despite the colourful and contemporary furniture.
The tiny gym has three machines and a water dispenser. Useful if you have jetlag or want to let off steam before a long day of work, because, as you will notice, lots of businessmen stay at this hotel.
Food and drink
The hotel does not have a restaurant, but cookies and coffee are laid out for guests in front of reception. While guests may have every reason to head back up to their rooms to eat their breakfast peacefully while watching the news in winter, in summer, they can enjoy drinking their coffee in the little courtyard in the middle of the building. On the subject of breakfast, the coffee is very... American, but the cookies are excellent! Try not to eat too many!

Package deals in août 2013Posted on 2013-12-14Seul - 3 à 5 nuitées (Chambre avec vue)

Advantages
calme, bien situé. on s'y sent bien.
Personnel réactif et accueillant.
Disavantages

Very modern, this Novotel stands out because of its contemporary style and well-deserved 4 stars. The very comfortable rooms and the tasty albeit expensive cuisine served at the restaurant are just two of the hotels advantages in addition to its ideal location: opposite the ice-rink where the hockey matches take place! Puck lovers will be delighted!
This hotel has two different aspects: on one side, the basic-standard rooms, the reception and amenities, all of which is a little outdated and of simple comfort, on the other side, Deluxe bedrooms and ultra-modern suites, stylish and contemporary, worthy of a top hotel. Make your choice! And whichever it is, make the most of the ideal location, a few streets away from Vieux Montreal.
This Sofitel hotel, which is part of the chain's new generation of hotels, offers stylish interiors. Opened in 2002, it really does deserve its excellent reputation and its business and upmarket clientele does it justice.
Note for those who are broke and have nowhere to stay. If all the hotels are full and it is minus 30° C outside, choose the Econolodge, which has the advantage of being not too far from the centre on foot.
The Place d'Armes is a beautiful and sophisticated central hotel, with a clientele which mainly consists of guests travelling for business in winter, and for leisure in summer. Modernity and authenticity come together here to create an impeccable result. The hotel will also afford much easier access when the road works in the street are complete.
Rather than going to a hotel, why not rent an apartment that has all the advantages of a hotel. This is what the Clarion offers, with its former studio flats converted into suites. You can cook here, the suites are large and you are not far from the city centre. These are ideal for families and those wishing to entertain guests.
As its name suggests, 'Le Petit Hotel' (The Small Hotel) is not very big, however it could just as easily have been called 'Le Petit Hotel Design' (The Small Design Hotel). Situated in the heart of Old Montreal, this hotel is ideal for young holiday makers who want to be at the heart of activity and are looking for extra comfort.
A charming little place, located on a very small street, the Saint-André will take your breath away. Despite the impression that it gives of being a small hotel for young penniless people, this hotel conceals a stylish and trendy interior blending originality and comfort. A hotel which you will enjoy coming back to, and where you're likely to become a regular.

With an exterior dating from the 19th century, a contemporary interior and a relaxed ambience, the Gault is an atypical hotel where you will quickly feel at home. Overlooking the Place des Arts, the Hyatt has a great location for the festival season. Those familiar with the hotel chain will not be disappointed by this hotel, which offers all the services and amenities you'd expect from a Hyatt. For the rest, this luxury hotel may certainly not have a lot of charm, but comfort is guaranteed. The hotel is very popular with business travellers, while families will appreciate the swimming pool!
