The Manary Praia opened in 1995 and was renovated in 2009, and can count itself one of Brazil's boutique guest houses. The owners, Carla and Eduardo, like welcoming their guests in person, telling them about the Natal region and even a bit about the history of the hotel, which was one of the first to open in Ponta Negra. Having started with 11 employees, there are now 45 people working here, and the decor consists of objects picked up in the 50 countries they have visited. You can listen all day long to the jazz, blues and Bossa Nova music chosen carefully by Carla to create a relaxed ambience. From the outside, the yellow hotel building looks like a big house. When you enter, you will start to see the original decorative features on display, starting with the antique cash register, desk and picture of shells behind the marble reception counter. Close to this stands a display case showing objects on sale like cuddly toys, books and ceramics. In the restaurant, there is a reading space furnished with an orange armchair and two other seats.
Outside is the rather modestly sized swimming pool, which is surrounded by plastic tables and chairs and overlooks the sea. You might also notice the webcam installed in this part of the hotel. The images recorded here of Ponta Negra beach and the surfers who regularly congregate next to the establishment are displayed on the hotel website.
If well-being is more your thing, head for room 105, which has been converted into a massage room. In addition to the two-person hammam, the chromotherapy shower and a pebble path to pamper your feet, there is also a whirlpool bath. On your way in, you will be asked what kind of music you like, and once your treatment is complete you will be offered a cup of tea. The products used are made by the French brand L'Occitane, but even so, the main advantage of this facility is its therapists. One of them has lived in Thailand and China, so don't hesitate to ask her for a massage using the techniques that originated in these countries and are now famous worldwide.
