The hotel was inaugurated in 1996 and renovated in 2009. The Ocean Palace is one of the main hotels on the Vía Costeira. Once inside this white building shaped like a pyramid, you'll discover a large reception area with brown leather armchairs, coffee tables, potted flowers with visible roots, marble flooring, and art déco details, such as the chandelier. From here you can hear the sea in the distance. On the left is reception and a little further on are 2 boutiques: one sells precious stones and jewellery, the other newspapers and sweets. There are various framed photos of celebrities in the corridors that lead to the different areas. The reception staff will also be happy to book an excursion for you.
On the ground floor there is an entire entertainment area. Next to the computers with online games you'll find a large room with 2 pool tables, a ping-pong table, and a foosball table.
However, the most attractive feature of this hotel for both children and adults is found outside: a huge water park. With 4 swimming pools for adults, another 4 for children, 3 pools with massaging jets, a series of waterfalls, and a couple of bridges, you couldn't find a better setting. All the swimming pools are interconnected and there is a floating bar. There is a children's club (for children over 4) that opens daily in a rather old and colourful room, with slides, a stage for shows, and numerous games. Underneath the swimming pools, there is a spa with a jacuzzi (the setting is a bit cold), a sauna, Turkish baths, a Scottish shower, an indoor hydromassage pool, and a massage parlour. The latter offers Ayurvedic massages, reflexology, reiki, and shiatsu. The gym has no less than 20 machines, 4 TVs, and an entire room dedicated to Pilates, and an instructor is available to help with your Pilates sessions.
There are 2 outdoor tennis courts that afford views of the sea.
