From the Via Costeira, this red and yellow, pyramid-shaped hotel is a striking building. This 5-star establishment opened in 1999 and was renovated in 2009. It features and impressive entrance hall with high ceilings, large bay windows bordered by long white and blue curtains, and round designer armchairs. The setting sets the tone for what is to come: namely a modern and pleasant hotel. Some flower arrangements and other little decorative touches such as large amphorae add to the general tastefulness of the place. There is also a computer providing some tourist information. Beyond the entrance hall, past the leather and wicker armchairs, you'll arrive at a terrace that affords a lovely view of the sea, Ponta Negra bay, the swimming pools and the garden. Still on the ground floor, the Pestana houses an art gallery that displays the works of local artists all year round.
There is a kids club for children aged over 5, where they can play games, draw and take part in theatre productions, to mention just a few of the activities on offer in this room with yellow walls decorated with science fiction characters. Next to this room, there is an outdoor playground including several slides.
The garden surrounding the swimming pool extends towards the sea and provides a pleasant and attractive setting. The thatched parasols blend seamlessly into the landscape. On the same level as the volley ball pitch, you'll find the spa, open daily from 10:00am to 9:00pm. It offers massages from 2:00pm onwards using products by the Occitane brand, a company from the South of France. The small treatment rooms, with their wooden ceilings and dimmed lighting, provide a highly relaxing atmosphere. There is also a jacuzzi here, affording sea views. As for the gym, this is fitted with all sorts of machines (a tread mill, bikes, various weight-lifting apparatus) but could do with being a bit more spacious. Finally, the Pestana also features its own hairdressing salon and beauty treatment rooms.
