Unlike vast luxury cruise ships, dahabiehs are Egypt's traditional boats, and The Morway is one of them. With a limited capacity of about 20 passengers, this exceptional boat is destined for those who want to enjoy an authentic Nile cruise where they can peacefully discover Egypt and the Nile... We fell in love with this boat instantly!

    Location 10.0 /10

The Morway is moored outside the city, and you should expect a 20 minute transfer journey from the centre of Luxor.

    Accommodation 9.20 /10

They are not all that spacious, but they are convivial and provide a romantic setting. Luminous and entirely white, from the paint to the furniture and the cotton bedspreads, they have hardwood floors, wooden furniture and include twin beds, but both single beds can be combined to form a double bed. Full of style and elegance, the cabins are indeed very charming. The Morway also includes two suites that differ from the cabins only by their size. The layout is the same as in the (poorly named) standard cabins, except that they are more spacious. At the stern of the boat, they afford a panoramic view of the Nile, which is incredibly beautiful and may be enjoyed by opening the big bay windows. Finally, last but certainly not least, none of the cabins include a TV-set. Absolute rest.

    Overview 9.70 /10

Everyone dreams of going on a cruise, but just imagine what it's like to go on a cruise in Egypt... It is undeniably one of the best options for discovering this country and its legendary temples. The Morway has some ten cabins and is truly a fine ship. Bigger than "traditional" cruise ships: it is about 50 meters long and seven meters wide. It is surprising how spacious it is on board, especially on the upper deck where passengers come to enjoy a nice cup of tea and admire the view of the Nile in absolute tranquillity. This area is entirely open and provides a feeling of well-being that possibly cannot be matched on any other Nile boat. The style, the interior and the choice of furniture are simple but add to the authenticity of the surroundings. Don't expect a luxury cruise, as this is a traditional boat after all. The panoramic view of the Nile is out of this world but the ship's interior is just as surprising. Again, simplicity has been favoured, which adds to the charm. There are around ten cabins that are all luminous and comfortable. There is a lounge area in the bow, where passengers come to chat, read or eat when the weather forces them indoors. We should say a few words about the fantastic work of the 13-strong crew, a decent size considering the fact the boat can't hold more than some twenty guests. The welcome is warm and the crew members are friendly and always smiling. Without them, the adventure just wouldn't be the same.

    Food and drink 8.70 /10

Much depends on the season. Generally speaking, the climate in Egypt is pleasant and sunny. What could be nicer than enjoying a meal on the upper deck with its exceptional view of the Nile? If the weather is too cold, we recommend the lounge area inside on the lower deck. As for the food, the products are fresh and purchased during the various ports of call and meals are prepared on board.
Finally, you might be interested to know that all non-alcoholic beverages are included in the fare.

    Beach 9.70 /10

The cabins and the upper deck are definitely this boat's main assets, and the latter is, in fact, the best place to be on board. It has a hardwood, benches, coffee tables and a beautifully executed oriental decor. This is a place to come together and to enjoy your meals if the weather is not too cold.

    To know

Dahabiehs are sailing boats and they don't have an engine. When there's not enough wind, it can happen that the crew must rely on a towboat, but it keeps a safe 100 meter distance so as not to disturb passengers with excessive noise. This is a common practice for this kind of boat.
The dahabiehs generally sail from September to the end of April (the best season). It is a 6 nights-5 days cruise.
The crew includes 13 members (3 of which man the towboat) for about 20 to 22 guests.
For security reasons it is forbidden to smoke on board, except on the upper deck.
    The clientele is international.
This type of cruise is the perfect holiday for couples. The boat drops anchor at night so as not to disturb the comfort of the sleeping passengers.
