The Marinca estate rises in the hills near Propriano and stretches to a small sandy beach in a solitary creek. A slight slope tumbling down to a warm and limpid sea. This is an unpretentious and isolated hotel where days pass freely and there are no tourist crowds.

    Location 9.84 /10

Le Marinca is a Propriano hotel. You get there by the A road on the hills, at the entrance to the town when you arrive from Ajaccio. You have to drive down a small road, which is in good condition, that leads down to the sea. The Marina is slightly further down on the right. There's a large parking lot. It takes about one and a half hours to drive from Ajaccio airport.

    Accommodation 7.95 /10

The 56 bedrooms are on two levels. They are quite big and all have a sea view. Bathrooms are spacious and have a bath or shower and a hair dryer. The are well decorated. Satellite TV, air conditioning, internet connection, safe at the reception, direct telephone. The bay windows overlook small balconies with tables and chairs. Room service during the day.

    Overview 7.95 /10

It's our favourite! Camouflaged in nature, the Marinca spends peaceful days in the shade of the many oak trees that cover the estate. As this is a modern hotel, it does lack a bit of charm but the site and panorama over the Gulf of Valinco are impeccable. The hotel opens on to a reception area where windows are seldom. The air is cool in this hotel, which is well insulated by thick stone walls. The restaurant extends to the outside with a pretty terrace fitted out with pools and fountains. A great place to be on firework evenings on the 14th July and 15th August. The garden slopes down towards the sea.

    Food and drink 7.70 /10

The restaurant serves refined cuisine. Sea food, fish and Corsican specialties: lonzu, coppa, boar, ewe and goat's cheese. The menu changes every evening. Good selection of Corsican wines.
Menu for those on a diet or for babies' meals on request. During the high season, wood fire specialties and fish are served at the straw hut on the beach.

    Beach 7.70 /10

The hotels gem! A small, fine sand creek away from the packed summer beaches. Delicious and translucent sea. Rocks for divers. The beach has deckchairs and parasols. Not many amenities for water sports. But there is a bar for serving aperitif in the summer. You can drink pastis watching the small port of Propriano and its ballet of ships. It couldn't be better.
