The St George Gardens is the family version of its next door neighbour, the slightly smarter St George Hotel. It provides children and their parents with an adapted establishment that skillfully blends relaxation and leisure. With the all-inclusive formula you won't have to take out your wallet once you're here. All of the rooms include a kitchen area and some of the facilities of the St George hotel, such as the Sen Spa, are open to guests of the Gardens.

    Location 4.01 /10

The St George Gardens is part of the village of Chlorakas, halfway between Coral Bay and Paphos, and the picturesque and lively port is only 5 mi away. The main archaeological sites are only 3 mi away. Paphos airport is 7 mi away, while Larnaca airport is 87 mi away, via the motorway.

    Accommodation 7.70 /10

The St George Gardens is, above all, a hotel for families, a fact clearly seen in the accommodation it offers: 88 rooms, 41 of which are studios, another 41 are single-room apartments, and 3 are suites with a private jacuzzi. The latter can sleep a maximum of 4. The rooms are all spick and span and very well lit. The floor is either tiled or fitted with parquet flooring. In all of the units, the parents' bed is separated from the sitting room by a system of sliding doors, which provides optimal intimacy. Every room has an endless array of equipment: satellite TV, radio, individual air conditioning, a direct international phone line, a kitchenette (crockery, a stove, sink, toaster, microwave oven, tea and coffee tray, and a fridge), a safe, a hair dryer, and a balcony with armchairs and a table. The bathrooms are spacious and include hospitality products. A nice fruit basket and a bottle of local wine await every arriving family and couple.

    Overview 7.45 /10

A lot newer than its neighbour, since it was built in 2003, the St George Gardens also boasts a far more pleasant and lighter architecture. As for the interior, it's more simple but practical. The lobby is spacious and well furnished, and its large bay window affords a panoramic view of Chlorakas beach. The garden, with numerous flower beds, is well kept. An outdoor swimming pool is available to guests, with deckchairs, mattresses, sunshades, and beach towels, as well as a pool for children. There is also a huge playground for their enjoyment. A team of entertainers is on hand to look after the kiddies and amuse them with numerous games, tournaments, and workshops. The establishment houses a beautiful indoor swimming pool tiled with blue and white mosaics and lit by a shaft of light that comes in through a hole in the ceiling. Also worthy of mention is the Greek-inspired outdoor amphitheatre, where shows are put on in the evening.

    Food and drink 7.20 /10

Breakfast is served as a buffet at the Vasilikos and the food is both varied and of good quality. Unfortunately, the layout of the tables isn't brilliant, as they're all bunched together. Another good point is the fact that children have their own buffet with everything they love (pizzas, nuggets, hamburgers). All of the other meals are served at the Empire Pool Bar, next to the pool, and at the Pizza Corner, with its Italian specialties. Another bar, with a lounge atmosphere, includes a terrace where you can enjoy a delicious cocktail. However, you can't have any of your meals at the St George Hotel.

    Beach 7.45 /10

The village of Chlorakas has a public beach, which is used by guests of both St George establishments. There is an artificial sea wall protecting it from strong currents. However, the insufficient number of deckchairs is regrettable, as the beach becomes very crowded when the sun is high. Still, the water is warm and crystal clear and the beach is made up of fine sand. In addition to mattresses and sunshades there are a couple of showers available. Close by, there is also a nautical club.

    To know

You'll probably be wondering what that huge abstract T-shaped sculpture on the beach represents. It's a monument dedicated to a handful of brave Cypriots, members of the independence movement, who landed here armed with only a few guns to fight against the British. Their boat is on display in the small museum located between the St George Hotel and St George Gardens.

The Azia is a pleasant comfortable hotel. The concern for details in the service and decoration, the soft animation, the sports facilities, the different entertainment options for children, let anyone largely fill up their days. Because of the rocks in front of the hotel, you will have to walk a bit to find an appropriate place for swimming.

Apart from its excellent location, close to the lively town centre of Paphos, the area's main cultural and archaeological sites, and a variety of shops, it has to be said that the Avlida has little appeal, despite the 4 star rating it so proudly displays at the entrance to its car park. The building itself is soulless, the guest rooms outdated, and some of the facilities have certainly seen better days. Realistically, the only redeeming feature is the pleasant welcome you'll receive.

Having been built in 2009, the Theo Sunset Bay Holiday Village is a brand new establishment designed primarily for those who like to holiday on a half-board basis. It is also ideal for guests who want a good level of comfort but who don't necessarily want to spend all day at the hotel, preferring instead to go off exploring the delights of the surrounding area. Of course, those who like to take it easy and not venture too far from the hotel are also well catered-for, as there are many organised activities available and the fitness centre has lots going for it.

The Alexander the Great Beach Hotel stands on the coast in Paphos and belongs to the Kanika hotel group, owner to several other hotels in Cyprus: Limassol and Ayia Napa in particular. It is 'reasonably' luxurious, blending together traditional Greek art and a more contemporary style, which caters for all age groups, especially since it was entirely renovated in 2010. Children are also welcome here, the hotel even having a leisure club available just for them.
