10 minutes walk from the Paraty historic centre, it is located 174 miles south of Rio, which is a 4-hour drive. The international airport is 170 miles away. You should anticipate 4 1/2 hours by car. No traffic jams but BR 101, the only highway to Paraty, is rather winding. In clear weather, the panoramic view over the strings of islands and islets, below the green Bocaina mountains is, in certain areas, unrestricted.
Please note that rooms have been redecorated in 2006. All rooms are of standard size (160 square feet in average) and overlook the gardens. All rooms include a television, a safe, individual air conditioning, a refrigerator-bar, a bathroom with shower, a small bar of soap. Individual toilets. Five rooms are communicating (for 5 people maximum).
Opened in 1996, built in 1994, this pousada is a recent, very welcoming, modest although very attractive, hotel located in a lively avenue, close to the cobblestone streets of the historic centre. Far, very far from Rio's high-class hotels and resorts. The small lobby opens onto a cute bar, furnished with painted wood and straw chairs. Passing through the television room/sitting room, one arrives on the swimming pool patio; as in all other Paraty pousadas, the swimming pool is small. There are plastic tables and chairs, plants and flowers, and 3 gigantic palm trees by the showers.
An unpretentious restaurant furnished with painted wood, in a small bright room. It offers international gastronomy for all three meals.
The hotel is located at a short walk from a gorgeous marina overlooking the Bocaina Mountains which shelters a protected natural forest. Nearby, numerous fine art boutiques, restaurants and retailers are open during the day. A great opportunity to bring home nice souvenirs. Praia do Pontal, the beach of Paraty, is located at a few miles from the historic centre hotels. You can access the beach by foot or, better, on a bicycle.

Rapport qualité/prix excellent pour cette pousada. Emplacement idéal, petit déjeuner buffet vraiment très bon et copieux. Enfin, une piscine des plus agréables.
