The buildings that compose the Phuvaree were definitely not built yesterday. However, the hotel only started to operate under this name in 2009. It doesn't offer much in the way of facilities, but remains a decent establishment nevertheless, offering a good level of service. Its location is, unfortunately, not ideal. It stands on a busy road and the surrounding area is not very attractive due to the numerous construction sites. However, the Phuvaree is a perfectly pleasant establishment, run by friendly and attentive staff.

The Phuvaree is located in the hinterlands of the Patong region, so it isn't exactly beside the beach. It takes about 30 minutes to get to Phuket Town from here. As for the airport, the transfer takes a little less than one hour, depending on traffic.
The 76 standard rooms of the hotel occupy two 4-storey buildings with no lift. Therefore, it's tough luck if your room is on the top floor... There are several categories of room available, but the differences between these are minimal. The standard room is identical to the superior room, but the latter features some extra amenities, such as bathrobes and slippers. There is very little in the way of decorative elements, and the furniture is simple. However, the room is very spacious. It's a shame that the building looks out onto another, very large one, as it rather ruins the advantage of the furnished balcony. Flip-flops and a beach bag are for sale in the wardrobe, in case you've forgotten to bring your own. The bathroom opens onto the bedroom and comes with various hospitality products. On the whole, the establishment is clean and well kept.
You really can't miss the Phuvaree! For one thing, it stands on the very edge of the road, and for another it's completely coated in pink paint. It's a pity that the lobby doesn't have a better layout but the welcome at the reception desk, very pleasant, makes up for this. This little, airy space opens onto the outside, and features a small pond. A few steps lead from the lobby to the rest of the establishment. Despite being surrounded by imposing buildings, the swimming pool is not cut off from the noise of the traffic. Wooden deckchairs and parasols are set up around it, making for a very pleasant setting. The restaurant can be accessed from this area directly.
Food and drink
Guests have two restaurants to choose from. The main restaurant, the Chomvaree, is open for the three meals of the day. It's located next to the swimming pool and affords a nice view, but also suffers from the noise of the traffic. The room opens onto the outside and is a lovely place to sit and eat your meal. The cuisine is essentially international but there are also some Thaï specialties for you to sample. The buffet counter is at the centre of the room, making it easy to access. The restaurant also regularly hosts theme evenings, such as the meat party, held on Tuesday evenings. For lunch or a light dinner, the hotel also has a small café next to the road that serves snacks and treats.
The beach is quite far from the hotel, taking at least a quarter of an hour to reach. Patong Beach runs along the entire bay. There are some areas of sand of a lovely quality but it can prove rather a challenge to find your own little spot on it, as the beach is swarming with people. Deckchairs and parasols available for hire line the entire shore, and for the entire day it will cost you just over £4 to hire two of the former and one of the latter. Water sports enthusiasts can try their hand at their favourite activity here. Even water-skiing and parasailing are available. However, if all you are looking for is a quiet little spot for a swim, it's mission impossible here!
In the guest rooms, everything is available to buy (probably as a way to fight theft)... There is a price list that features every item in the room, down to the room service menu!
The Andaman Seaview is a city hotel, located not far from Karon beach. It offers good value for your money and it is particularly suited for those who are looking for a lively place with standard services. The rooms are comfortable and particularly spacious.
Built in 2000, the Hyton Leelavadee is a small unpretentious hotel with simple comfort, composed of lovely comfortable rooms. Situated next to Patong Beach, it is a good starting point to visit the region. Just a few activities are offered; then it will suit lovers of small structures.
Despite its location making it susceptible to a fair bit of traffic noise, the Seaview Patong is nevertheless a perfectly pleasant place to stay. Admittedly, though, it's hard to relax and soak up the sun with all the cars passing nearby. One thing for sure is that the staff here are fantastic and go out of their way to ensure that guests get the most out of their holiday. You'll find a lot of couples staying here, which isn't surprising since there are no facilities that cater for children.
Like a person's face reveals the passage of time, so you can see hints that the Baumanburi is starting to feel the weight of the years. However, its buildings are well maintained and its facilities are not that old: the oldest dating from 2001 and the most recent from 2007. When looking at the paintings on the wall in reception though, which are not exactly frightening but which are definitely a little disconcerting, you'll definitely get the feeling that the hotel could use a facelift. This being said, the young clientele doesn't seem to be disturbed by such factors and is instead vey content with the location of the hotel, just 5 minutes on foot from Bangla Road.
The Peach Blossom is a comfortable but rather charmless hotel on the hillside above Kata and Karon Beach, offering peaceful and relaxing surroundings for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Patong and the surrounding beaches. It is also recommended for families, as the kids' club is open every day.
With incontestable features - a golf course, a very high level of service, accommodation of very high category - , the Banyan Tree imposes itself without difficulty as one of the most luxurious establishments in Phuket.
The Anantara Phuket Villas boasts truly peaceful, serene surroundings, and is the kind of place you'd come solely to relax. It consists of a series of villas with a private pool; you really would be hard-pressed to find a better place to get away from it all. The staff is also very attentive and the service personalised. Although the majority of the clientele is made up of couples, children are also welcome; there is even a special club for them. The complex faces northwest, so you'll get to enjoy some beautiful sunsets...
Here is the kind of hotel where you think to spend peaceful holidays, quietly sat on your terrace or on the beach with a good book... The Trisara opened in November 2004. It is then a beautiful hotel, isolated from the rest of the island but especially from the rest of the world...
Opened since 2002, the Evason Phuket is a quality establishment. The hotel extends on a property of 158 acres. Families will be happy to know that the hotel offers a children club. And couples will have space for their privacy...
The Sala Phuket was definitely one of our favourite hotels in Phuket. This splendid establishment is a true haven of peace, both in terms of its architectural qualities and in terms of the tranquillity it offers. It's the perfect love nest for couples, but the hotel also welcomes children, although there is no entertainment on offer. The standard rooms, called the Balcony Rooms, intentionally come in limited numbers. This is for good reason, as it would be a shame to come here without enjoying the superb villas with their private pools. The Sala Phuket opened in 2008 and has many successful years to look forward to!
The Movenpick Karon Beach of Phuket is open since 20th July 2007. It is
the former Crown Plaza. The establishment is composed of big living spaces
where guests are not crammed. It has the biggest children
club on Phuket island: families will be seduced!
The JW Marriot hotel is one of the biggest infrastructures in Phuket. This luxurious hotel combines a big quantity of equipment, quality services and impeccable comfort in a nice well-ventilated setting.
