    The hotel is located on the seaside, 1 mile from the centre of Playa del Carmen. It takes about 50 minutes to reach the airport, which is 33 miles away.

    The rooms, of average size, blend harmoniously the styles of Mexico and the Caribbean. They open onto a balcony or a terrace overlooking the garden. They are equipped with a king-size bed or two double beds, individual air-conditioning, a ceiling fan, satellite television, telephones with direct international dialling and a paid safe. There is no mini-bar, nor fridge. The bathrooms have a bathtub with a shower.

    Built in 1998, the Reef Playacar Club includes 200 rooms distributed within 18 buildings and rising on two floors surrounded by an important tropical vegetation. A wooden terrace built on stilts dominates a natural spring, the starting point of a long central aisle. It leads to two large swimming pools. The hotel offers a full programme of daily activities. It also has a hall accommodating up to 400 people that stages a daily show: music, dance, imitation, Mexico, Disney, Planet Hollywood.

    The Chula Vista estaurant serves buffet style, topped with regional and international specialities in the morning, afternoon and evening. The beverages are numerous. The room, wide and shaped in a semi-circle, overlooks the swimming pool. The place is very colourful, fresh and joyful. The Italian restaurant Botticelli serves a la carte from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. For a drink, go to the bar La Chiquita. It opens from 11 a.m. to 2 o'clock in the morning. Otherwise, seat comfortably at the pool bar and the lobby bar.

    The large public beach of Playacar stretches out at the foot of the hotel. The sand is white and fine, the water is clear and the Caribbean Sea is turquoise blue. It attracts many swimmers and water sports athletes. The hotel has a diving station. Sunshades with palm-leaf roofs, deck chairs and hammocks equip the shore. The beach is guarded. At certain tides of the sea, it suffers from a high altitude.
