The Pollentia is located on Alcudia road, equidistance from the charming village of Alcudia and the port of Pollentia, 2 miles one from the other, on the north coast of the island, close to Cape Formetor and its mountains. The airport of Palma is located 46.5 miles away. You should expect about 1 hour and a half by car.
The 34 restaurants are spread out in two zones of the hotel. The bungalows of 1 or 2 floors of the ''Village'' offer luxury suites of 345 to 475 feet² in buildings made of natural stone and brick roofs. The rooms of ''the 'Maris'' (of 195 to 235 feet² surface) are located in 2 level bungalows a little less attractive, units made of red brick blocks. You should ask for those located on the first floor if you want to enjoy a patio, and not a small balcony... The best view is the one overlooking the park and the mountains. All the rooms offer individual air-conditioning, ceilling fan, direct international telephone line, a refrigerator, satellite TV, a safe (paying), a large bathroom with a hair-dryer, a bathtub, lots of welcome products. The decoration is simple but efficient. Furniture made of light wood, large mirrors and pictures on the walls. A bench and two double beds.
Built in 1976, renovated in 1995 and then in 2004, the Pollentia is a huge isolated hotel, stretching out on a surface of 914,600 feet² out of which 85% are gardens with Mediterranean and exotic plants (algave, yucas...), trees and natural fish basins, as well as lagoons. Built in the heart of the natural park, it looks like an ecological establishment: electrical small cars, soundproofing of the common parts, water recycling for the gardens, usage of the recycled paper, reduction of the tarred up zones, selective waste separation, training of the personnel... The buildings, small bungalows, have been built with "marés", a type of stone from the island. It has two sections. You can choose bungalows of the ''Village'' or those of 'the 'Maris''. .The first ones offer spacious suites located close to the reception, the show stage, sports fields (tennis, soccer, basketball...) and a mini-club; those of ''Maris'' are comfortable and located in a quieter zone close to the second pool, the raquetball field and the second restaurant.
It offers four restaurants and four bars...a large choice! Two main restaurants serve all three meals as buffet. The Ancora, our favourite, is located close to the ''Maris'' zone and serves breakfast and dinner. It offers a nice quiet patio and a large dining room, a little dark however. The food, mainly international, is very good quality. The other restaurant - the Denario, serves three meals, offers a large bright dining room with glassed-in openings, charming but too small compared with the number of clients that it welcomes. The tables are nicely set up, the seats are made of rattan with white cushions. Impeccable service. Pretty close by you can also eat at the Pont Roma, a restaurant serving Spanish specialities located below the reception. You will enjoy the cosy ambiance. A second à la carte restaurant, the Aquarius offers grilled foods.
The beach of the hotel is the beach of Can Cap de Bou located in the port of Pollentia, a few miles north. It stretches out on three hundred feet and offers all the necessary amenities: beach chairs, sunshades, nautical base with classic activities (pedalo, sailing, banana...). The sand is fine, the water is clear but it is very crowded despite its size. This area is windswept. You will need 20 to 25 minutes walking to get here, along the road of Alcudia (very busy)...or 5 minutes by bus. The bus station, located at the foot of the mountain serves every fifteen minutes both the beach of Pollentia as the beaches of the bay of Alcudia (about 15 minutes). Our advice: rent a ship from Pollentia so you can see at least once the beach of Formetor. The turquoise waters here compete with those of the creeks located on the east coast of the island.
The Pollentia offers all the sporting facilities and the equipment that you expect to find in a hotel of this class. It has a preserved environment in the heart of the natural park of Albufetera, from where you can see the mountains of Cape Formentor. The lack of conviviality is the main issue here. At least it offers all inclusive formula (everything included).
