    Location 8.55 /10

The hotel is located on Wenceslas Square (Muzeum subway station just below the square). The Old City and the Charles Bridge are within a 10-15 minute walk. Businesses, shops and museums are situated nearby. The airport is 10.5 miles away. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to reach it.

    Accommodation 7.20 /10

Out of all 76 rooms at the hotel, 20 are triple. There are also 6 apartments (constructed in 2005). As for the view (and any noise) you should not worry: all lodgings overlook a courtyard at the rear of the square. The furniture is inspired by the Art Nouveau style, while being very modest: parquet floors, walls in light colours (with Mucha reproductions). The double rooms have an average area: approximately 215 ft². It is rather spacious for a town hotel. As for the facilities, each room has a minibar and a safe, which are provided for an extra charge (normal for the first service, a pity about the other). However, you can appreciate the television, a kit for preparing tea / coffee, a direct dial telephone and air conditioning. In the bathroom, there is a shower or a bathtub (except in room 608, which has both). Small personal toiletry products are from brand name "flower line". There is a hair dryer.

    Overview 6.20 /10

The lobby of the Elysée hotel (built in 2002) is located inside a shopping mall, on the first floor. The route is well marked. You arrive at the reception, a quiet and cosy place compared to Wenceslas Square. Parquet floor, wooden counter, old furniture and decoration that will remind you of the 19th century bourgeois interiors in France. There is no other lounge except the one in front of the counter. You can reach the rooms (on 6 floors) by elevator. The corridors are adorned with reproductions of the masterpieces of Alphonse Mucha: a preliminary glance at the museum, which is near the hotel.

    Food and drink 6.70 /10

For breakfast (included in the room price, unless otherwise stated by the tour operator), you must go outside the hotel to the Bona Vita restaurant located in the shopping centre. A small terrace has been built, extending along the passage: it can be used in any season, since the gallery is covered, but it has no external view. In the morning, breakfast is served buffet style (including cheese, cold cuts, cereals, rolls, pastries). The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. A dish costs around 200 Czk: a very reasonable price, but for some the scenery will seem like an "adventure in the virgin jungle" - an analogy a bit typical yet pompuous at the same time. At the hotel there is no full bar service: you can order only tea or coffee in the lobby of the reception.

    To know

It is one of the hotels to choose when you come to Prague with your family or a group of more than two people. Ideally situated so that you can dine outside without spending a fortune (several fast food places on the spot) and to discover the numerous museums in Prague. 5 minutes away on foot there are the National Museum (both a museum of history and a museum of natural history) and the Mucha Museum (works of the famous painter Alphonse Mucha and of the Art Nouveau trend).

    Advice on lodging

Two rooms have a small balcony: these are rooms 607 and 608. They are also slightly more spacious than the rest (around 323 ft²).
For families, it is best to book an apartment: there are 3 for 4 people and 3 for 6 people. A kitchenette with plates for cooking, a kettle, a toaster and dishes are available. Attention, a minimum of 3 nights is required to book the apartments.

A former bank headquarters and part of a Italian hotel chain, with neo-Renaissance decor and facilities of a palace: the Carlo IV hotel is one of the most prestigious addresses in Prague. Those who already know the Boscolo hotels - having stayed at the Dei Dogi in Venetia or the Exedra in Rome - would choose this hotel with their eyes closed.

The Central is both a hotel and one of the key stopovers to set off on a visit to the Art Nouveau quarter in Prague. Admire its façade (particularly at night); once in the lobby, surprise... But those who have an eye will quickly discover this building's history. This hotel is infused with particular refinement, the exact place for fans of boutique hotels.

The Tchaikovsky is a great little place for those looking for some rustic charm and who are not too concerned with the available facilities. The rates are reasonable and the guest rooms very large. Although the hotel might not be centrally located, the main tourist hub of Wenceslas Square is barely a 15 minute walk away. The Vltava River also runs past the end of the street.

Beyond the imposing façade of the Beranek hotel, set back from Wenceslas Square, lies an impersonal establishment that is entirely devoid of charm. This really couldn't be further from the image which usually springs to mind of this incredibly romantic city. Apart from the dreadfully ordinary communal areas, the guest rooms are nevertheless decent enough but expensive for the level of service provided. It is good to know that the hotel has its own car park, which is nothing to sniff at in a city where parking can be a nightmare.

The King's Court is one of the newest 5 star hotels to open in the Czech capital. It has taken up residence in a fantastic building in an ideal location close to the metro stations and tram stops, with the Municipal House just opposite. Generously sized and decorated in a modern style, it has fabulous amenities and several different room categories to choose from. However, we were not totally satisfied with the originality of the place, and apart from some flashy details, the finishing touches - the furniture, for example - leave a lot to be desired.

The Mandarin Oriental, one of the best establishments in the city, has the advantage of being located away from the crowds of tourists but is still close to some of the must-see sights. The setting is historical and the services luxurious, true, but this haven of peace and quiet for the more fortunate has a certain austerity that feels a bit cold.

The Ventana hotel is ideally located at the heart of the Old Town and is a charming little place providing high-quality, low-capacity accommodation. The modern and elegant decor of this uncharacteristic hotel is sure to win you over, particularly when you take into account the original facilities, which include Duplex rooms which can accommodate up to 4 people and afford beautiful views across the rooftops of the city. If we had to find fault, it would be that the minimalist decor in the guest rooms leaves them rather characterless.
