A member of the Spanish hotel chain Iberostar Hotels and Resorts, the Ibérostar Bahia is not located in Salvador de Bahïa as its name suggests, but 55 mi further north, near the village of Praia do Forte. It lines an immense unspoilt beach, hit by large rollers, ideal for surfing, which is the reason why several international competitions are organized here. A well-preserved beach, devoid of deck chairs, parasols, bars and restaurants, leaving enough space and peace and quiet for sea turtles to come and lay their eggs from September to March. Praia do Forte actually hosts the Tamar project on the preservation of turtles as well as the fort, which gave its name to the village. Boat tours are organized from September to December to watch the whales. Fitness lovers will be disappointed as there is no real spa, just three massage parlours open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, the fitness centre is ultra modern, in a beautiful, air-conditioned room with a glass roof, offering a stunning view of the ocean. Open 24 hours a day, you can even have a personal coach to train you. For lovers of the "green", the hotel has an 18-hole golf course. The all-inclusive option gives you the right to use the restaurant any time of the day or night.
