Situated close to the sea, the San Felipe Hotel offers services and a level of comfort suitable for couples in search of a pleasant setting. It equally houses lovely tropical gardens and rooms renovated in a refined style.
Facing the sea and 328 feet from the beach, close to downtown Puerto de la Cruz and the Lago Martianez municipal complex. To reach the hotel from the Los Rodeos airport north of Tenerife, located 12.5 miles away, will need a 30-minute drive and 1:30 from the Tenerife Sur airport located some 62 miles away. The hotel is some 25 miles away from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital of the Island.
Rooms undergoing renovation are fitted with refined wooden furniture and new lighting mounted in a spacious and well-lighted area that offers breathtaking vistas. Half of the rooms offer an impressive view of the sea, while the others open up to the mountain, pools and gardens. Equipment include a direct telephone line, a safe and a mini-bar (upon request and not free of charge), satellite television, adjustable airconditioning and a complete bathroom with bathtub and hair dryer.
Renovated in 1997, the San Felipe hotel is made up of a grand 17-storey tower comprising 260 rooms, including connecting rooms and rooms designed for disabled persons. At the foot of the hotel, clients can enjoy the beauty of a vast area of well-kept tropical gardens, with 3 pools (including 2 airconditioned) and a children's area, a wooden pontoon, deck chairs, parasols and an open-air snack bar.
Bordered by long glass panels overlooking gardens, the restaurant offers breakfast and dinner in the form of buffets in a delightful and spacious setting. The refined decoration blends dark brown wooden furniture and a marble floor. The diversified internationally-inspired cuisine offers Canarian and Italian specialties once a week. For lunch, clients may enjoy pizzas and broiled meat from the barbecue at the snack-bar by the pool.
330 miles from the hotel, the beach offers no particular interest, safe for the Lago Martianez municipal aquatic complex (not free of charge) situated nearby. To reach the beach, the most beautiful in town, located less than 1 mile away, follow the driveway to the sea and cross a couple of streets. The beach is closely watched, well kept in spite of its average size, and carpeted with coarse black sand. Equipment include parasols, deck chairs and showers. Water sports and games are readily available for children.
The Felipe hotel renovates its rooms with refined wooden furniture and gilted lighting. So far, 30% of the rooms are equipped with this new fittings. 984 feet from the hotel, the municipal aquatic complex Lago Martianez (not free of charge) located by the sea offers vast swimming pools surrounded by gardens, deck chairs and parasols that are practical and delightful for couples and families.

Un hôtel club idéal pour visiter TENERIFE en bord de plage à PUERTO DE LA CRUZ, jolie petite ville où il est agréable de se promener. Une équipe aux petits soins pour les vacanciers, des chambres spacieuses et très propres, un buffet varié avec des plats chauds qui changent chaque jour et quelques animations pour le gouter au bord de la piscine(gauffres et des crêpes). Une animation pour les enfants et les adultes mais très discrète (quelques activités en journée + spectacles le soir).

Located by the sea and close to the Lago Martianez aquatic complex, the Atlantis hotel is an outfit with a traditional and somewhat old-fashioned style. Although equipped with a mini-club, it is more convenient for couples rather than families.
Luxury and leisure are the catchwords of the Botanico hotel. The originality and finesse of the decoration, the vast subtropical gardens and the refinement of the entire setup afford this institution the very high standards that meet the needs of the most demanding clients.
Sitting nicely on the seaside along a footwalk, the Valle Mar offers standard hotel service with neither sports nor recreational facilities. It is located close to several bars and restaurants and the exciting area of Puerto de la Cruz.
Lying on the north coast of Tenerife in a quiet neighbourhood of Puerto de la Cruz close to the renowned botanic garden, the Riu Garoe is a lovely, very quiet and well built hotel that will meet the expectations of couples in search of quiet and rest. The quality of services offered should equally ensure a pleasant stay for the visitor.
Aside from the hotel's proximity to the beach and the fact that it's located in a quiet residential area, there isn't a whole lot going for the Interpalace. We found it to be quite tired and dated (although clean and comfortable) and lacking a bit of atmosphere. This maybe because it is not a hotel intended for children (welcome though they are) or because the facilities are shared with the Bonanza across the way. The Interpalace would be best suited those staying for a long period (the rooms are very spacious) but who intend on spending most of their time outside. One to consider but lower down on the list?
The Semiramis stands right on the rocky shore and is a large and charmless 17-storey building which does, nevertheless, afford breath-taking panoramic views across the sea from the lobby, the guest rooms and the restaurant. To be perfectly honest, this 5* establishment is more what you would expect of a 4* and could do with a bit of a makeover in places. The surroundings here are very (perhaps too?) quiet and the hotel also has a spa and two swimming pools, the first bring indoor and heated, the second of semi-Olympic size. In a nutshell, this place is best-suited to couples of a certain age seeking a relaxing holiday by the sea.
Belonging to the Hoteles Coral chain, the Teide Mar hotel is located in the housing estate of La Paz in the hills above Puerto de la Cruz. Built in 1965, its charm lies in its colonial architecture with sculpted balconies.
The Bonanza is a reasonable choice for both couples and families looking for an affordable hotel close to the beach but in a quiet location. It isn't the most modern or good-looking of the hotels in Tenerife, but it has good size rooms, a good choice at meal times and a relatively high number of animators looking after guests both young and old(er). One advantage of this hotel is that guests can use some of the facilities at the Interpalace Hotel across the road.

Perched on its eagle's nest on the heights of Puerto de la Cruz, the Las Aguilas hotel stands out from other hotels of the island. The services offered are more worthy of a 5* hotel than of a 4*, and will meet the expectations of loving couples as well as children with its countless facilities designed for these categories. Just the right address.
The Luabay is probably the trendiest, and certainly the youngest, hotel in Puerto de la Cruz. It is a breath of fresh air in an area with many worn out hotels. It has a good range of services, spacious, functional rooms and a very good restaurant. While not entirely focused on families with kids, it does have entertainment for the little ones as well as adults too. Despite its distance from the beach, we'd definitely recommend this cool property for a fun-filled, stress-free break in the sun.
Haven in the heart of the green valley from Orotava, the Quinta Park is an ideal park for all those seeking relaxation and care. Its fitness centre offers comfortable and modern equipment in a pleasant and relaxing ambience.

Located on the seaside, the Maritim hotel is a pleasant complex suitable for both couples and families. Animation, sports, a mini-club, leisure and relaxation facilities are all offered in a restful and lush environment.
Situated on the fringes of Puerto de la Cruz, the small Miramar hotel will appeal to couples in search of rest and tranquility. Its free shuttle service, however, enables clients to move to the town centre and beach with ease.
A relatively small hotel in a quiet area of Puerto de la Cruz, the Diamante Suites is a hotel perfect for relaxing away from the bustle and bustle of the main touristic area of the resort. Although not right next to the beach, the hotel has great all round views and a good range of facilities for an establishment of its size. It may be a little rough around the edges in parts, but it has a certain charm that is difficult to put your finger on, so we won't try! Suffice to say that if you're looking for a mid-range hotel as a couple (Diamante will become adult-only from next summer) then have a closer look at this one.
