Located in Punta Cana, the touristy epicentre in the country with its 25 miles of beach, between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, on the southwest coast of the Dominican Republic, the Iberostar Dominicana is located on the Bavaro beach, some 33.5 miles away from the bustling town of Higuey ( within 1 hour ) and 3h30 away from Santo Domingo, the capital town of the Dominican Republic. The airport of Punta Cana is 13.6 miles away from the hotel ( 20 minutes ).
The rooms at the Iberostar Dominicana are impeccable and tastefully decorated in shades of yellow and blue. They are spacious and well equipped : air conditioning, satellite TV, a fridge-bar, a bathroom with a bathtub, a hair dryer and a safe. The only problem: the corridors are endless.
This hotel, built in 1996, has 347 rooms housed in a very long building with neo-classical architecture. Either you like it or you don't. As for the facilities, there is nothing lacking : the two swimming pools, the spa and even the fitness room. Funny : the Caribbean village, located by the hotel, for shopping.
The six restaurants, semi-open or air-conditioned, offer a high quality cuisine. Three of them, serving a la carte, stand out : the Italian, the Mexican and the Gourmet restaurants. The two buffets and the snack bar are also very good.
Fitness fans can relax in the marine spa, open from 9:00am to 7:00pm, with its four outdoor Jacuzzis, sauna, steam room, and slightly further away the six massage rooms equipped with Germaine de Capuccini cosmetic products.
The beach of the Iberostar Dominicana hotel, the Playa Bavaro, is the most famous in Punta Cana. With its translucent water and white sand, it is difficult not to be seduced ! The beach extends far beyond the horizon, although it does not belong only to the hotel ; the neighbouring resorts share this beach. The only problem : the nagging noise of the boat engines, which pass continuously all day long. The beach of the Iberostar Dominicana hotel provides deckchairs and houses the water sports centre, which offers a wide range of activities.

This is an unusual place for Punta Cana, where most of the resorts that take over the area of Bavaro are giant and overflowing with facilities. The Stanza Mare is a friendly-sized aparthotel standing along the peaceful little beach of Los Corales. The facilities are limited to a large swimming pool in the middle of a tropical garden and an à la carte restaurant.
