Located in Punta Cana, the tourist epicentre in the country with its 25 miles of beach, encircled by the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, on the southwest coast of the Dominican Republic, the Bavaro Ocean hotel is on the Bavaro beach, some 30 miles from the bustling town of Higuey (within 45 minutes) and 125 miles from Santo Domingo, the capital town of the Dominican Republic. Las Americas, the international airport of Santo Domingo, is located 118 miles away (three hours). Punta Cana airport is 13 miles from the hotel (15 minutes).
The 166 standard rooms are distributed in buildings of one to two floors and are equipped with rattan furniture. They include many storage lockers. All are equipped with a terrace or a balcony, individual air-conditioning and a ceiling fan, a refrigerator, television satellite, telephone, a bathroom and a hairdryer. No mini-bar.
The Bavaro Ocean consists of 12 white and salmon-coloured buildings with pointed roofs. The corridors are in red brick. The activities are organised around a beautiful, large, lagoon swimming pool, not very shaded. Lush tropical vegetation is abundant all around. The terraces of the swimming pool and the restaurants are large and well equipped.
The customers of Bavaro Ocean have access to the 4 buffet restaurants that serve international and Dominican cuisine and two restaurants that serve a la carte, as well as four bars, all located within the complex. The grill restaurant on the beach serves a la carte in the evening. Adequate food, but no more.
Open from 7:00am to 8:00pm, the Rénova Spa includes 12 massage rooms, an outdoor relaxation area, a Jacuzzi, a sauna, a steam room, a beauty and hair salon.
The beach of the Bavaro Ocean hotel, namely playa Bavaro, is the most famous in Punta Cana. With its transparent waters and white sand, it is difficult not to be seduced! The beach extends far beyond the horizon, although it does not belong only to the hotel - all neighbouring resorts share this beach. The only problem: the nagging noise of the boat engines, which fly by on the waves all day. The beach of the Bavaro Ocean is a bit far from the hotel (10 min).

For the rest, this facility of average standard is located in Punta Cana, a tourist resort far from the Dominican lifestyle. All are located close to the Bavaro Village and Villas Bavaro, two hotels belonging to the chain Barcelo. Each of the three hotels has its own reception, but shares the restaurants and the beach, fortunately immense. As a result, the distances are great; it takes about 10 minutes to get to the beach. A minibus with air conditioning commutes from the hotel, and can carry about twenty people, setting off every 50 minutes.
