This exclusivity of the Heliades tour operator is a human-size, comfortable, and convivial hotel. It is ideal for small budgets who want to tour the area.
The Alexandros Hotel is located on the seashore, in the village of Drama, 2 miles from Georgioupolis, 12 miles from Rethymnon, 25 miles from La Chanee airport (1 hour and 15 minute transfer), and 59 miles from Heraklion airport (approximately 2 hour transfer).
The 80 rooms are evenly distributed between the main building and the bungalows. They are all identical, with a surface of 172 square feet and decorated Cretan-style (whitewashed walls, thick tiles, traditional dyed wood furniture, etc.). Only a few triple rooms (with bunk beds) are slightly larger. All rooms have air conditioning, a direct telephone (modem outlet), satellite television, and a safe (for a fee). The bathroom includes a shower or bathtub, and a toilet. Most rooms have a balcony or a terrace looking out on the sea (20 rooms look out on the mountain).
Built in 1990 and renovated in 2001, the Alexandros hotel includes a main two-storey building and 4 small one-storey bungalows. The main building is painted white and decorated with blue shutters. This is where you will find a charming lobby with whitewashed walls and rattan furniture. A bar with a rustic atmosphere extends into a terrace overlooking the swimming pool area. The latter includes a 2,700 square feet pool and a tiled solarium with deckchairs and parasols (free). Near the pool, an amphitheatre is used for entertainment and shows.
The main restaurant is a pretty room in yellow and dark blue tones. Breakfast and dinner are served buffet style. These buffets are very standard, not very varied (2 dishes), primarily local specialities. No special evenings are organised. For lunch, you can go to the tavern for a self-service or menu meal. Carafe wine and mineral water are included in meals.
Even though the hotel is built on the seashore, there is no real beach because at this location, on the extremity of the bay, the shore is covered with pebbles. Deckchairs and parasols (free) have, however, been placed on the lawns that slope softly to the sea. Despite the pebbles, swimming is possible and safe (guarded beach). To find a sandy beach, you will have to walk 980 feet away from the hotel. The closest water sports club is located 1 mile from the hotel; on the premises, you will only be able to enjoy windsurfing and kayaking.
For children from 3 to 14 years old, a mini-club is open in July and August, except on Sundays and Mondays.
sauna
gym, aqua gym, volleyball, paddle boats, canoe, dance, bums and tums, archery, badminton

Located a few miles from Rethymnon, the Rethymno Palace opens onto delightful gardens. The rest is somewhat disappointing for a five star hotel.
A very simple hotel located at the back of a bay, close to a pleasant fishermen village. A convivial and inexpensive hotel.
The Creta Royal is an upscale hotel built on the seashore in a large, well-maintained park. Moreover, its location is ideal, very close to Heraklion and Crete's most beautiful archaeological sites.
The Creta Star is a secluded seaside hotel offering all the services of a large all-inclusive club, with food served throughout the day, many sports activities, a children's club, a large pool, etc. Its location also means you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the surroundings before choosing the activity of your choice.
The hotel Atali is a family-run business where the majority of the clientele are half-boarders. Located in the seaside resort of Bali, you will doubtless be impressed by the varied Cretan landscape which surrounds it.
The Frameco Kirki is the ideal base for families looking for a pied-a-terre at the heart of the small village and port of Panormo. Although the bathrooms here leave something to be desired, the level of comfort offered by the hotel is perfectly sufficient for tourists looking for a base from which to explore the island.
The Iberostar Creta Marine is an immense seafront complex offering luxury hotel accommodation. It is laid out like a village, and its little groups of buildings retain a feeling of privacy while also boasting good quality facilities spread over a large park. There are also some nicely located artificial beaches, which are a bit small and not especially attractive, but nevertheless a positive point.
This isolated 5 star Cretan village facing the sea combines modern and traditional architecture. Natural elegance and sophistication are the order of the day at the Royal Blue Resort, which is particularly proud of its wonderful spa. If you're looking for a beach holiday, however, you can forget it, although there are some 30 private pools within the hotel grounds.
What a pleasure it is to wander around this hotel with all its green foliage, how neatly-kept and diversified it is! The Aquila Rithymna Beach stands on the seashore, with enough amenities to satisfy any guest: swimming pool enthusiasts, activity and sports lovers, but also gourmets and children of all ages. We must also make a special mention of the babys' club.
The Aegean Pearl faces the sea and offers all the services of a 5-star hotel. It offers an alternative to the city hotels and all-inclusive hotels in a relaxed, Zen ambiance. Ideal for a very peaceful stay next to the sea.

This family-owned ecotourism establishment is run by three brothers who decided to invest in alternative tourism and organic agriculture. You are sure to have a unique holiday here interacting with the locals and taking part in a variety of activities that will allow you to discover a different side of Crete. One of them is a ceramics studio where you can learn about this art through demonstrations by professionals, but which also offers practical workshops during which visitors can try moulding and creating their own authentic ceramic pieces. You might also wish to attend a concert featuring traditional music or take part in the grape or olive harvest, which is ideal for those looking to do something different while enjoying the nature.
The large and well-maintained El Greco is located just outside the tourist resort of Rethymnon and is particularly noteworthy for the high quality all-inclusive option it offers. The emphasis on service is undoubtedly one of the hotels strong points, along with its proximity to the sea.
Looking over the long beach of Rethymnon, the hotel could be mistaken for a high rise block of flats when seen from afar. Once inside, you will have a big surprise. Somewhat reminiscent of a cruise ship, the space is full of twists and turns, pontoons, parquet floors, and pretty little swimming pools... Thanks to intelligent renovation work, the hotel makes use of every nook and cranny to offer a maximum of services to its guests. There are many bay windows to allow maximum use of the natural light.
