Thirty years-old and not one wrinkle! When you walk into the Lindos Bay, you would not guess that the foundations of the building date from the 1970's, although a few discreet details do betray its age - the upstairs carpet for example. It has to be said, though, that the hotel was entirely renovated in 2007 and is now as shiny as a new penny. Indeed, this newly renovated hotel boasts a decidedly contemporary style as far as the rooms and amenities are concerned. There is even a spa, which makes up for the lack of activities here. It has the ability to make couples, or any guest looking to relax, feel as comfortable and 'at home' as can be.

    Location 6.0 /10

The Mareblue Lindos Bay reigns majestically on the beach of Vlycha, a mere 2 mi from the famous village of Lindos (and a little further from the famous acropolis set high up in the mountains!), 30 mi from the medieval town of Rhodes and 35 mi from the international airport. Access to the hotel is gained via the beautiful main road, south of the capital city. This road sets the holiday mood right away!

    Accommodation 8.00 /10

The Lindos Bay consists of 112 double rooms, each with a balcony facing the sea, 80 double rooms with a view of the mountains of Lindos, and 8 suites with a view of the sea. You are therefore most likely to have a view of the Aegean Sea during your stay! The standard rooms from before the time of the renovation are now superior rooms decorated in a modern and sophisticated style. Renovated between October 2006 and May 2007, they have a maximum capacity of 3 to 4 guests. All have a king-size bed or two twin beds covered with a simple and contemporary bedspread, an additional bed, air-conditioning, a direct telephone line, satellite television, internet access available for a fee and a modern and spacious bathroom equipped with a bathtub, a soap dispenser and a hair-dryer.

    Overview 7.50 /10

Most facilities, whether indoor or outdoor, were renovated during the winter of 2007, but the manager doesn't count on stopping there - in 2009, for example, some of the furniture was replaced. Let us hope that the lifts and the carpet in the corridors are part of the plan which has benefited common areas such as the lobby (even though the floor has not yet been replaced), the restaurants and the spa. As for activities, guests will find an outdoor pool and an indoor one (hidden within the spa), a jacuzzi, a sauna, a hammam, a gym, tennis, beach volleyball and basketball courts, a pool table and table football. Unfortunately for children (and their parents!), there is no mini-club. The youngest will, however, find enough to entertain themselves in the playground or the kids' pool.

    Food and drink 7.70 /10

Despite its moderate size, the Lindos offers an interesting choice of restaurants and bars. Guests can choose between the main restaurant open for all three meals of the day (Greek, Mediterranean and international cuisine served as a buffet), an a la carte 'show-cooking' restaurant open for lunch and a panoramic a la carte restaurant (Mediterranean cuisine) open for dinner only, with a view of the sea. Half-boarders can exchange their dinner for lunch if they wish to. As for drinking opportunities, you will find a lounge bar, a pool-side bar, a beach bar and a snack bar for nibbles.

    Beach 7.50 /10

The Lindos Bay benefits access to the pretty beach of Vlycha, also used by the Iberostar. Stones and pebbles cover this part of the bay, but the bravest among you will perhaps dare to drop their sandals! Wooden walkways wind their way along the beach and deckchairs are set out from one end to the other, under the shade of parasols. The latter, as well as the beach towels and the chaises-longues are available for free. This is a major advantage on an island where most services have to be paid for. Guests can also take advantage of the water sports hut, but be aware that all the activities are only available for an extra charge. Moreover, while their children are getting to grips with windsurfing, parents can relax as the beach is watched by a lifeguard...

    To know

Many of the staff here are Swiss. The only activities are a few concerts (piano) or singing nights on special evenings or games by the pool in the daytime. You certainly won't find any deafening music here or children screaming by the pool!

Despite its beachfront location, the Club Jumbo still feels cut off from the outside world. However, it is an undeniably friendly hotel with a truly delightful staff. Originally known as the Sunrise, this hotel was designed for families and provides a great setting for children, despite its relative lack of facilities. This isn't too much of a problem though, as guests tend to spend most of their time around the pool, which, it has to be said, is rather small for the number of rooms.

This was definitely our favourite place to stay in Rhodes! Built to resemble a small Greek village, the Lindian Village is a beautiful boutique hotel where we would be happy to spend many holidays. It certainly deserves its position as one of 'The Leading Hotels of the World'. Originally opened in 2005, the hotel operates during the summer period, from April to October. It is a pleasure to walk along its narrow paths bordered with flowers and leading straight to the sea. The clientele is composed mainly of European couples, and children are welcome but there are no facilities provided for them.

This complex stands on the heights of Vliha and resembles a Medieval village that you just can't miss with its high towers. The resort offers all the necessary activities and amenities for a successful family holiday, however, its original architecture contrasts dramatically with its interior decoration, which is very similar to that of other hotels' on the island...
