    Location 7.0 /10

The Blue Sea is located 2 miles from the seaside resort of Faliraki on the eastern coast of the island, 7 miles from the beautiful medieval city of Rhodes and 4 miles from the village of Afandou where you can visit the international golf course, dotted with olive trees.
Faliraki is the most famous holiday place on the island, literally on the water, giving access to numerous seaside activities, but has no sailing sports. Enjoying a dry climate and little wind, the resort is flooded with sunlight as late as October. No pebble beach will mar your stay here. A luxury for the island, which is 90% bordered by pebbles! In the evening, the resort comes alive with night-time activity and you can choose between the pleasure of a good meal in one of the many taverns along the sea, the unbridled rhythms of the bars or even walkways along the beach. It is easy to find a vehicle at the many shops that rent scooters, motorcycles or cars. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the city of Rhodes and 30 minutes to reach the airport. As for shopping, souvenir shops have mushroomed everywhere and work in full swing, including during the summer.

    Accommodation 7.95 /10

The hotel has 316 rooms of good size (about 215 ft²), housed in buildings with elevators. But access to the rooms is long and complicated. The rooms overlook the sea (if you pay more) and the beautiful bay of Faliraki - especially at sunrise - onto the gardens or the mountains or, in the least fortunate case, onto the road at less than 50 feet from the building: for access to the hotel it is practical, but not for peace and quiet...
They all have a furnished balcony, with amenities such as air conditioning (individual), satellite TV and radio, telephone (with direct dial for international calls), mini-bar, bathroom with a bathtub and a hair dryer. Equipped with numerous storage facilities, the rooms are simply furnished and the walls are decorated with paintings of Greece.

    Overview 7.20 /10

Built in 1976 and renovated in 2003, the Blue Sea hotel boasts modern architecture and consists of three buildings of 3 or 4 floors. It has a reasonable size and fancy decoration: colourful jets of water, flowers on the tables and in the green lush gardens, decorative plates hanging on the walls, windows all along its corridors... Above all, you feel quickly at home thanks to the service and the hospitable staff, who speak English and French. Until 2 o'clock in the morning, delicious cocktails are served by Dimitris, who has been working for eight years in the hotel bar, located between the vast lobby and the long outdoor terrace. And he is always smiling!
In short, the hotel offers an extremely friendly atmosphere and, moreover, the Blue Sea meets international standards in terms of equipment. This is not the case with all the hotels of the same category in Faliraki. A "bravo" to the heated swimming pool (at the beginning of the season) located in a large room down near the jacuzzi.

    Food and drink 6.70 /10

The main restaurant serves both local and international cuisine for all three meals of the day, buffet style. Vegetarian meals and packed lunches are available for those who may go on excursions. It is possible, furthermore, to arrange your dining time (breakfast and dinner) with the restaurant's manager. The terrace overlooking the pool is pleasant. The tables are, however, too tightly arranged indoors. Please note that the pastries served at breakfast are homemade. During the rest of the day, the food served is fine. But the a la carte service in the restaurant located to the left of the lobby is excellent. Once a week, a Greek party is organised.
Moreover, there is a snack bar near the beach, open from 10 AM to 6 PM, just as the pool bar. The only disadvantage: the customers of the Blue Star, the hotel across the street, have access to both restaurants in the Blue Sea.

    Beach 7.95 /10

The Blue Sea hotel enjoys the privilege of using the vast sandy beach in the bay of Faliraki stretching as far as the eye can see, on around 1 mile. Some pebbles are scattered across this part of the bay but in general you can walk barefoot. The granite sand is dark brown. Alike the neighbouring hotels, wooden traverses run along the beach dotted with deckchairs under the shade of sunshades from one side to the other. Remember that the deckchairs are provided for an extra fee, about ? 3 per half-day... And, from this point of view, all resorts in the area operate in the same manner. Customers can access the sailing club on the beach near the hotel, which is also paid, as it is entirely private and does not have a commercial agreement with the hotel management.

    To know

The key asset of the Blue Sea is its reception and the extremely polite staff. The tour operator, Héliades, has made this hotel its "flagship" in Faliraki and since 2005 has established permanently a team of a dozen speaking animators. In addition to French, Italians and Germans love to stay at this hotel club that meets the expectations of both families and couples seeking seaside pleasures.
At an arm's length from the Pegasos Beach, the Blue Sea hotel benefits from the sandy beach of Faliraki, the famous seaside resort. Remember that all neighbouring resorts (fifteen in total) share the same beach, which is public, but big enough. It is rare to find a hotel with a private beach in Rhodes.

The Louis Colossos Beach is a (colossal!) 742 room hotel, 7 mi from the ancient site of the extremely famous Colossus of Rhodes. However, while this wonder of the world only stood for around 60 years, the hotel itself is well set to continue accommodating guests on its 7 floors for years to come... Built some twenty years ago, although the hotel has been updated it lacks somewhat in originality.

If you are having doubts about wearing your flip-flops at the Blue Sea Hotel, the giant aquariums in the lobby (and the fish they contain) will certainly clear that up for you, and, if that's not enough, the views of beautiful Faliraki beach will leave you in no doubt. Located just a few miles from the seaside resort itself and around ten minutes from Rhodes Town, the Blue Sea is a clean and comfortable club-hotel with simple yet modern decor.

The Kalithea Mare Palace is located opposite Cape Bodi in an elevated position that offers several unobstructed sea views. The hotel does not have its own beach but shares one with its neighbour, the Kalithea Horizon Royal. The two establishments also have the same reception. The clientele is mostly made up of Germans. Guests don't come here for a quiet and relaxing stay but rather to do some socialising. Given the limited space around the swimming pool, you will probably get to know your neighbours! However, while you are bound to make some acquaintances here, the facilities are disappointing.

In addition to sharing the reception with the Kalithea Mare Palace, guests staying at the Kalithea Horizon Royal can access its neighbour's amenities for no additional charge. However, there is no denying that the Horizon Royal offers a better set of facilities; for example, larger spaces around the swimming pools. Indeed, space is one of the qualities found in abundance at the hotel, but the resulting distances can be trying under the hot sun... To make up for this drawback, a shuttle does the rounds of the hotel on a daily basis, but only during the daytime. Most of the guests staying at the hotel are families, partly because children are well looked after here.

Just a few feet from the beach, the hotel has few sports facilities and not much in the way of organised entertainment and activities.
