The Belvedere is located opposite Kanari beach and it is an imposing four-floor building which can initially appear somewhat off-putting. The inside of the building is also lacking in charm, though the hotel does have the significant advantage of being well located and well-equipped for a town hotel. It also offers beautiful views across the sea, particularly at sunset. You are sure to enjoy your stay here, provided that you are not too sensitive to the noise of passing cars! In fact, you will need to cross a rather busy road to reach the beach from here. In short, this hotel is to be recommended to couples (particularly the elderly) or those just passing through the town.

Relying mainly on its all-inclusive formula, the Mareblue Cosmopolitan is a vast holiday playground. The lawns and sun decks of the hotel are filled with deckchairs and guests can enjoy seaside pleasures all day long. It is difficult to find a quiet, isolated corner in this resort. Open since 1996, this huge structure with its imposing architecture is operational during the summer season, from April to October. The clientele is made up of various different nationalities and includes lots of families.

The Kalithea Mare Palace is located opposite Cape Bodi in an elevated position that offers several unobstructed sea views. The hotel does not have its own beach but shares one with its neighbour, the Kalithea Horizon Royal. The two establishments also have the same reception. The clientele is mostly made up of Germans. Guests don't come here for a quiet and relaxing stay but rather to do some socialising. Given the limited space around the swimming pool, you will probably get to know your neighbours! However, while you are bound to make some acquaintances here, the facilities are disappointing.

In addition to sharing the reception with the Kalithea Mare Palace, guests staying at the Kalithea Horizon Royal can access its neighbour's amenities for no additional charge. However, there is no denying that the Horizon Royal offers a better set of facilities; for example, larger spaces around the swimming pools. Indeed, space is one of the qualities found in abundance at the hotel, but the resulting distances can be trying under the hot sun... To make up for this drawback, a shuttle does the rounds of the hotel on a daily basis, but only during the daytime. Most of the guests staying at the hotel are families, partly because children are well looked after here.

The 5* Ixian Grand was built in 1978 and underwent a complete makeover in 2007, which makes it hard to believe that it is over 30 years old! The new incarnation is designed to a contemporary, designer template. Just a few feet from the beach, the hotel has few sports facilities and not much in the way of organised entertainment and activities. It is therefore best suited to couples without children, or families passing through.

The imposing 4 to 6-storey Electra Palace Resort is rather alarming at first sight, but turns out to be a good place to laze around or let off steam taking part in the numerous activities organised by a well-motivated team. Built in 1974, it was fortunately completely renovated in 2007 and now presents a modern face to the world, just a stone's throw from the Aegean Sea.

Previously known as Sofitel, the Capsis has now abandoned the illustrious name without loosing any of its grandeur. It is a monumental nine-floor building which includes the largest conference centre ever to be seen in a European hotel; an important asset that is likely to inspire holidaying businessmen and women. This fully-equipped establishment is the ideal choice for couples as well as families. However, don't count on doing any activities, as these are practically non-existent...

The Olympic Palace has such an imposing architecture that it's hard to pass by it without it catching your eye. It was built towards the end of the 70s, and from the outside it rather looks like a huge space craft. However, be assured that inside, the hotel is much more pleasant and features modern furniture. The clientele is mainly made up of families, most of which come from Europe.

From the outside, the Rodos Palace is a massive 17-storey building, impossible to miss from the coastal road that passes in front of it. It's not the most welcoming of places at first glance, but once inside, guests remember that they shouldn't judge a book by its cover. However, the 70s inspired style is very present here, which might not be to the liking of all guests! However, despite its age, the Rodos Palace offers facilities that are suitable for guests of all ages. Interestingly, the hotel has welcomed some very famous guests, such as François Mitterrand and Margaret Thatcher.
