    Location 6.71 /10

The hotel is located next to Kitinen river, 37 mi from Saariselka in the northern part of Finnish Lapland.

    Accommodation 5.95 /10

12 small wooden chalets with a terrace for less cold days welcome guests into a Nordic setting. The furnishings are minimal and the space confined, which is all the better for getting the place heated up quickly. 6 of the chalets have a little bathroom with a shower, but guests in the other rooms will have to go outside to use another chalet provided for this purpose! There is a little kitchen area with hotplates and a coffee-machine, so you can make yourself a hot drink when you get back from outings, and a small table is squeezed in between two bunkbeds, meaning that although the chalets sleep 3 or 4 guests, couples will not be able to sleep side by side! There is also a small television and a radio (not in all the rooms) to help while away the long winter evenings when the last of the daylight disappears by 3 in the afternoon.

    Overview 6.70 /10

This hotel, which opened in 1989, consists of 12 small red wooden chalets spread along the riverbank, and one larger one housing the restaurant, lounge, shop, bar, etc. Two large wooden tables, the odd souvenir, and tea and coffee-making facilities (charged!) are provided in a room approximately 269 sq ft in size. It is a pleasant, welcoming place to enjoy a meal with friends of an evening.
There are two chalets with showers and saunas which are open to all and are especially useful if your room does not have a shower. A final touch that will keep younger guests happy is the swing that can just about be seen out in the snow.

    Food and drink 6.45 /10

All the meals here are 'just like at home', carefully prepared by the lady of the house and served as a buffet. Dinner is copious, while lunch is usually a simpler affair enjoyed in a tepee or in the mountain restaurant, so you do not have to return to the hotel in the middle of an excursion.
