The Casa Sacristía de Santa Ana is a boutique hotel in a prime location at the heart of Seville. Great attention has been paid to every last detail, from the furniture to the materials used, not forgetting the combination of shapes and colours. As soon as you set foot inside the hotel you'll find yourself in a modern Andalusian-style courtyard with a small fountain and stylish furniture with a very pleasant feel to it. You are also sure to receive a very heartfelt welcome here and should feel free to ask at reception should you have any questions or queries whatsoever. The inside part of the breakfast room is also worth special mention. All that's really missing is a nice pool for swimming a few lengths on a hot summer's day!

    The Casa Sacristía de Santa Ana stands on the Alameda de Hércules, 10 minutes from the Royal Alcazars and around 10 mi from the airport, with a transfer time of around half an hour by car.

    Each of the hotel's 23 guest rooms is named after a figure from Greek mythology, in tribute to its location on Alameda de Hércules. This is, in fact, one of the oldest and most famous squares where Hercules is believed to have fought. So, you could find yourself staying in the Hippolyta, Perseus, or Crete room, or even the Angias or Diomedes room, each displaying its own personality. The American-style room, for example, is furnished with white mirrors, cupboards upholstered in Toile de Jouy, a green wooden headboard, and exposed beams on the very high ceiling. The bed is topped with pillows bearing the embroidered initials of the hotel. Over on the desk you'll find a flat-screen television, whilst the windows boast wooden shutters which are great at keeping the daylight out. The views from the rooms are outward-facing and are of either the Calle Santa Ana or the Alameda, and they all come with a minibar and a free safe. The bathroom, meanwhile, is decorated along the same lines, with a round washbasin topped with black and white ceramic tiles, a large light-coloured mirror, 2 small (1930s-style) lamps adorned with pearls, and a selection of hospitality products bearing the name of the hotel. The corridor leading to the guest rooms are done out entirely in red tiling and feature rugs in the same colour with various patterns.

    This former 18th century sacristy, known as Santa Ana, became a boutique hotel in 2007. Behind its yellow façade decked with two old lampposts lies a charmingly renovated Andalusian courtyard, with red tiling surrounding the little fountain at its centre. Should any of the furniture here take your fancy, bear in mind that all of the patio furniture is for sale, including a red chest of drawers, a green console unit, and a copper mirror. All of the pieces were carefully hand-picked pieces and come from various European countries, but primarily France and Spain. The furniture is generally a combination of traditional and more modern touches, in terms of both style and colour, as demonstrated by the brown and white upholstered armchairs arranged under the archways. The inner courtyard is nice and bright thanks to the light coming in through the picture window and provides a peaceful, relaxing setting where you can sit and let the sound of the water carry you away. The decor in the reading lounge, meanwhile, consists of two stylish red and silver armchairs, a fireplace, and a rounded decorative silver ceiling, though you'll also find pots of assorted condiments (salt, mustard, lime blossom, and thyme) here. This is also where you'll find the computer, provided free of charge for guests' convenience.

    The Casa Sacristía de Santa Ana doesn't have a restaurant as such, so breakfast is the only meal of the day served here. The breakfast room is located on the ground floor, close to the patio, and is decorated in a very original style, complete with a multi-coloured and geometrical marble floor, large picture windows, and a gilt-framed mirror with matching lamps, all topped off with a simply magnificent handcrafted Sevillian ceiling. The ancient and now purely decorative copper coffee pot is also quite something. Breakfast is served daily as a buffet from 7:30am to 10:30am and consists of a selection of fruit juices, coffees, teas, Viennese pastries, toast, cold cuts, cheeses and yogurts, as well as various hot items, including sausages, bacon, and eggs. If you'd like to partake of a coffee and a dessert from the San Buenaventura bakery any time between midday and midnight, head back to this breakfast room, not least because it also boasts free Internet access!

    Since this is a boutique hotel, you can expect a personal welcome and the reception staff will be happy to recommend excursions, tours, and the best maps for making the most of the city. In terms of cuisine, although there is no restaurant at the hotel, you'll find a fine selection of eateries at the Alameda, from the tastiest omelette and whiskey in the entire city to various tapas bars, an Italian restaurant, and another serving some rather sophisticated cuisine.

      This three-star establishment, which belongs to the 'Casas y Palacios de España' group, could barely be in a better geographical location than its address at the heart of Seville. The interior design features a combination of Andalusian items and more classic decorative objects. The guest rooms, which are spread over three floors accessed via a lift, are spacious and practical. The pleasant inner courtyard is brightly lit through its vaulted, coloured-glass roof, and is the perfect place to sit with a book or just unwind with a little something to drink. However, the breakfast room and lobby have a somewhat cold appearance.

      As its name suggests, this hotel from the Eurostars chain is located in the neighbourhood of Cartuja, which was built to host the Universal Exposition of Seville in 1992. However, not only is it in this neighbourhood, it is actually within the Olympic Stadium itself! This makes it an especially appealing place to stay if you are going to watch a match or any other event being held there. The guest rooms overlooking the stadium are particularly eye-catching. However, you are best off arriving by car or by taxi, because otherwise you will have to cross an immense and rather unattractive car park in order to get there. Also, the hotel is a long way from the city centre, and does not have a lot of facilities.

      This hotel belongs to the High Tech group and enjoys a perfect location, at the heart of Seville, on Plaza Canalejas and opposite the famous Meliá Colón. The Petit Palace hotel provides its guests with free Internet access and has fitted each of its 52 rooms with a computer, which is a real bonus feature. However, if you like to have a lot of room, we would recommend that you don't book a standard room as you'll almost certainly find that it's not spacious enough. Alternatively, if you're travelling as a family and are looking for good value for your money, choose one of the family rooms as these are fitted with bunk beds. Try to avoid the rush hour at breakfast as the room is rather small.
