This hotel belongs to the High Tech group and enjoys a perfect location, at the heart of Seville, on Plaza Canalejas and opposite the famous Meliá Colón. The Petit Palace hotel provides its guests with free Internet access and has fitted each of its 52 rooms with a computer, which is a real bonus feature. However, if you like to have a lot of room, we would recommend that you don't book a standard room as you'll almost certainly find that it's not spacious enough. Alternatively, if you're travelling as a family and are looking for good value for your money, choose one of the family rooms as these are fitted with bunk beds. Try to avoid the rush hour at breakfast as the room is rather small.

    Location 8.54 /10

Located at the heart of the city, on Canalejas street, the hotel stands half-way between the Plaza de Armas shopping area and the Maestranza bullring, close to Isabel II bridge that crosses the Guadalquivir and leads to the Triana neighbourhood. San Pablo international airport is approximately 8 mi away, and it should take around 20 minutes by car to get there.

    Accommodation 6.95 /10

Like the other establishments owned by the same group, the Petit Palace Canalejas hotel has equipped all of its 52 rooms with a laptop with a broadband Internet connection. This is undoubtedly one of the hotel's strongest assets. If you bring along your own computer, though, you must obtain an access code from reception desk if you want to surf the Internet. The standard rooms are rather small and don't include much other than a bed, a bedside table, a small desk (with a transparent plastic chair) and a narrow wardrobe, all in a mixture of white and orange tones. The bathrooms are small but nevertheless practical, and they are provided with a shower and a hair-dryer. To avoid spending too much time looking for the hospitality products, remember that they're concealed under the wash basin. If you're travelling as a family, we recommend you choose one of the 14 family rooms, since these are more spacious and furnished with bunk beds, enabling them to sleep up to 4 guests. Another appreciable feature is the adjustable lighting, which is very convenient when sitting down to enjoy a good book.

    Overview 7.20 /10

The building has been home to a hotel since 1986, but it was only in 2008 that it opened under the name of the Petit Palace Canalejas. The former façade has been entirely restored and is a remarkable sight. This small 2-star establishment has only the bare necessities: a small reception desk, a TV room and a breakfast room. To your right as you enter, you'll find a very simple reception area that faces a room with two computers connected to the Internet and furnished with black and white leather armchairs. Additionally, there is a large-screen TV where you can watch the football or other events. The set of steps that leads to the entrance is fitted with an electric chair for disabled guests. In the courtyard on the first floor, there are a few cycling machines for sports enthusiasts. We strongly recommend that you book in advance, since the hotel can quickly become full during the holiday season.

    Food and drink 5.20 /10

On the ground floor, next to the reception desk, there is a small room where breakfast is served as a buffet. There isn't a hugely varied selection to choose from, but the freshly-squeezed orange juice is worthy of mention. There are also some cold cuts, bread and pastries on offer. The decor here boasts the same colours as those used in the rest of the hotel: orange and brown. The white chairs stand out against the dark parquet flooring. Each table is topped with a few flowers, and at the far end of the room there is a TV broadcasting the daily news. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant

    To know

The decor of the Petit Palace Canalejas hotel resembles that of the other establishments owned by the same brand, as there is one interior decorator for all of them. The hotel brand boasts the name High Tech due to the high level of technology it provides, as seen in the free Internet connection throughout the hotel.

This three-star establishment, which belongs to the 'Casas y Palacios de España' group, could barely be in a better geographical location than its address at the heart of Seville. The interior design features a combination of Andalusian items and more classic decorative objects. The guest rooms, which are spread over three floors accessed via a lift, are spacious and practical. The pleasant inner courtyard is brightly lit through its vaulted, coloured-glass roof, and is the perfect place to sit with a book or just unwind with a little something to drink. However, the breakfast room and lobby have a somewhat cold appearance.

Only a 15-minute walk from the Alcazar of Seville, facing the Guadalquivir, the NH Plaza de Armas provides the standard service you'd expect from this hotel group, in a pleasant setting. Its 262 guest rooms are spacious and practical, and feature the usual amenities, such as a mini-bar, a safe and even some additional services, such as a selection of pillows to choose from. The swimming pool is located on the top floor of the hotel and overlooks the city. The interior layout lacks originality, and the terrace area could be put to better use. Breakfast is served as a buffet with pastries, fruit juice, fruit, cereal and cold cuts.

The hotel is located between Armas Square shopping centre and the 'Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza' arena in the city centre, close to Isabel II Bridge, which crosses the Guadalquivir River enabling you to get to the working class district of Triana. The Monte-Carlo is a simple and cheap establishment offering limited facilities, but it is comfortable enough, with a nice restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch, as well as a sitting room with a big TV set, a bar, and a charming patio providing the perfect setting for drinks.

A stone's throw from Triana and Seville's Art Museum, the Confortel Puerta Triana includes four rooms especially adapted to cater for disabled guests and affords a magnificent view of the cathedral. Its common areas are spacious and the interior decor blends various designer elements. There are individual TV sets in the breakfast room, which is particularly appreciable for those travelling alone. However, the standard guest rooms could do with a bit of a makeover: the furniture has been changed recently but the bathrooms still await much-needed renovation work.

Casa Romana is a small, charming, family boutique hotel located on Trajano street, next to the Hercules esplanade in the old town. The building itself dates back to the 18th century and its striking patio, adorned with a fountain, immediately conjures up an Andalusian atmosphere. Also worthy of note is the large whirlpool bath and solarium terrace on the roof of the hotel.

The Inglaterra exudes the kind of distinctive charm of an establishment with a real history. One of the first hotels in its category to open in Seville, it has managed to retain some of the features that have made it famous since that date back in 1857. The current building was erected in 1968. The façade could be more attractive and the breakfast room is also rather low on appeal. Inside, the hotel logo displayed on the various stained glass windows and furniture, in addition to the types of wood used and the Irish bar (which opened in 1995), make the place feel both classic and unique at the same time.
