    Location 9.21 /10

It is located on Calle Muños y Pabón, at the heart of Seville, in the historical district of Santa Cruz (the old Jewish quarter), from which it takes its name, and just a stone's throw from the cathedral. The closest metro station is Puerta Jerez (line 1) and the closest bus stops are at the Plaza de la Alfalfa (line C5) and Menendez Pelayo (lines 1, C3, C4, 21 and 23), whilst Don Pablo international airport is 9 mi away, with a transfer time of around 20 minutes.

    Accommodation 8.70 /10

The average-sized guest rooms (16m²) at the Petit Palace Santa Cruz are modern and ultra-stylish, with a lovely and rather unusual original decor, far from a traditional classical style. Another original touch is that each room has a computer with free, ultra high speed Internet access, which is a major plus! More athletic guests may be pleased to know that the superior rooms even come with their own exercise bike! The carpet, furniture, and curtains are all grey while the armchair and the pillows are orange! In terms of decor and amenities, the rooms all have a free electronic safe, a telephone, free Wifi Internet access, individual air conditioning, a flat screen satellite television broadcasting 21 channels, a mini bar fridge, and a desk. There is also a small balcony overlooking the San Nicolas church, the perfect spot from which to watch the famous Holy Week processions passing by.
The bathrooms are just as stylish as rest of the rooms and come complete with a bowl-shaped basin and right-angle tap. Whilst half of the rooms have a bathtub in the bathroom, the other half have a large tropical shower with hydromassage jets and both a flexible and a fixed head. The superior rooms even have a large jacuzzi bath! Other amenities include: a toilet, bidet, hair dryer, magnifying mirror, and hospitality products. The bathrooms are separated from the rest of the room by a clear glass wall, meaning anyone trying to sleep risks being woken up by the light! The family rooms have a king size bed for adults and a bunk bed for children. Room service is available from 2:00pm until 9:00pm.

    Overview 7.70 /10

The Petit Palace Santa Cruz is a member of the Madrid 'High Tech Hoteles' group, and, despite having opened as recently as 2005, has little in the way of facilities or amenities other than its lobby and breakfast room. Having said this, the guest rooms themselves double as a business centre and gym, providing a computer with free Internet access and an exercise bike. The hotel's 46 guest rooms are housed in a historic 2 storey 17th century building complete with a yellow pastel facade and 2 lifts. This small hotel has a pretty little Sevillian patio and an 18th century marble staircase at its centre, with a 1st century Roman column on the lower ground floor. The guest rooms are arranged around the patio, which is surrounded by columns and archways but has a contemporary style thanks to the grey-papered walls and stylish armchairs.

    Food and drink 7.70 /10

Breakfast is the only meal on offer, served from 7:30am to 10:30am (and up to 11:00am on the weekend), but the food is excellent. The buffet is served near the lobby in an elegant room complete with a large plasma screen television, and is both varied and delicious, with homemade pastries, cereal, the standard hot dishes (bacon, omelette and sausages), cheese, and cold meats washed down with divine freshly-squeezed orange juice. There is also a winter room on the lower ground floor, which can accommodate up to 40 guests, but when the weather is nice, you may prefer to head for the charming little outdoor patio. It is adorned with flowers and boasts a 16th century Italian marble Renaissance porch, framed by 2 columns, and a balcony complete with arches and a border finished with period mosaics. The bar is open from 8:00am until 10:00pm.

    To know

All the rooms have a computer with free Internet connection. The superior rooms even have an exercise bike. Guests can help themselves to complimentary water, fruit juices, tea and coffee in the lobby from midday until 10.00 pm. A computer with free Internet access is available 24 hours a day, and a selection of international newspapers are also available.

    Accommodation advice

For families, the hotel has fourteen 323 sq ft family rooms, complete with a king-size bed for the adults and bunk beds, which fold up against the wall to save space, for the children.

This three-star establishment, which belongs to the 'Casas y Palacios de España' group, could barely be in a better geographical location than its address at the heart of Seville. The interior design features a combination of Andalusian items and more classic decorative objects. The guest rooms, which are spread over three floors accessed via a lift, are spacious and practical. The pleasant inner courtyard is brightly lit through its vaulted, coloured-glass roof, and is the perfect place to sit with a book or just unwind with a little something to drink. However, the breakfast room and lobby have a somewhat cold appearance.

This was undoubtedly once a very grand establishment. Today, however, it is an unpretentious little place, tucked away at the heart of a very pleasant square in Seville, just a few minutes' walk from the city centre. If you're a fan of the 70s, it's safe to say that you are sure to be won over by the interior architecture. As for the rooms, you can expect space here, and lots of it.

This charming boutique hotel stands in the Judería district and is British-owned. Its 6 guest rooms are all different and it's clear that a great deal of time and effort was been put into the renovation of this former private residence, which dates back to the 17th century. If you're not very familiar with the city, the staff here will be happy to offer up countless options and ideas when it comes to getting out and exploring the more authentic side of the city. Music-lovers, too, will be delighted to find that the rooms come with their own musical instruments, along with musical programmes specially designed for guests at the Corral del Rey. The bar, meanwhile, also serves as an exhibition space for various painters and photographers throughout the year.
