Near the arid mountains of the Sinai, the Baron Resort hotel is vast and well-organized to accommodate families. Programme: the various animations and relaxing on a beautiful beach, something rare in the region.

Built in February 1998, on 5 acres on the seafront in Ras Nasrani bay, the Baron Resort faces the Strait of Tiran, a famous site for scuba diving. About 12.5 miles from Naama Bay, you will find the tourist and boating centre in Sharm El Sheikh. The airport at Sharm is 2 miles away.
The 360 rooms of the Baron Resort are classified into four types: standard (some of which communicate), suites, luxury suites and royal suite (superb). All rooms are relatively spacious, and equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fan, television (22 channels), safe (free), telephone line with direct overseas access, mini bar and balcony or terrace. The bathroom has a shower in the standard rooms (a bathtub in the suites) and a hair dryer.
With cold and massive exterior architecture, the Baron Resort consists of four one-storey buildings. The main building is shaped like a bay, which softens its large volume and its sharp lines. The gardens really lack vegetation, particularly around the swimming pool and on the path to the beach. The result: lots of concrete and overwhelming heat.
The hotel has five restaurants. The main restaurant serves international cuisine, buffet style, in a huge room (400 seats), surrounded by windows. The other four restaurants offer a la carte Italian, Indian, oriental and fish specialties. Six bars and a piano bar are also located on the site: the beach and the swimming pool (snacks), a billiard room, Internet access in the lobby (service 24/24).
The hotel has a very beautiful beach, the longest in Sharm El Sheikh (1,970 feet). Its width allows it to be equipped with many deckchairs, umbrellas and showers. The platform, where aerobic classes are offered with a musical background, is not very far - but those who want to be alone can easily do so because there is plenty of space. The curious people have the opportunity to admire the fishes and corals through a floating pontoon, about 165 feet long, located perpendicularly to the coast. You can also enter the water freely. The ground near the eastern coast is covered with corals, which prohibits water sports.
The customers are largely from Italy (60%), Switzerland and Germany (30%). Water sports can be enjoyed in Naama Bay. But not in front of the hotel for the seabed is covered with coral, as is often the case in the region.

At the heart of Naama Bay, the hotel enjoys a pleasant location, but offers little comfort in a small facility. Simple but friendly, this facility is recommended for small budgets.

Part of the Spanish hotel chain, Sol Melia, the Sol Cyrene is great for guests wishing to spend maximal amounts of time outdoors. The pool and the beach areas are pleasant although the interior of the hotel isn't very inspiring. The hotel feels secluded which is a good quality to have in the area. The beach is one of the best we have seen in Sharm although it can get a little crowded.
The Royal Albatross is a fairly large resort by the beach. Although non-descript, it is a good choice for holidaymakers with families looking for a bit of sunshine.
It is true to say that the Coral Hills is by no means one of the top hotels in Sharm el Sheikh, however there is something immensely likeable about the place. It may be the intimacy of the place; it could be the small touches likes the swan towel sculptures on the beds or maybe even the enthusiasm of the staff. Whatever it is, easyvoyage.co.uk would recommend this small hotel for those looking for a quieter getaway mixed in with activities down at the beach.
The Tropicana Azure Club, not to be confused with the Tropicana Grand Azure just across the road, is not on the beach but does have a very pleasant pool area planted with palm trees. The pool itself is large, so a good choice for guests with children who are after a little sunbathing with peace of mind. The rooms are of a good standard but the food may leave some guests disappointed.
One of the classier outfits in Sharm el Sheikh, the Royal Grand Sharm offers the complete package to guests looking for that little bit extra from their hotel. Perky staff, a beautifully kept environment and convivial atmosphere make this a natural choice for both couples and families. The Jaz Belvedere Hotel is easily one of Sharm el Sheikh best quality resorts. With its beautiful interiors and very well maintained exteriors, the Belvedere is more of a hotel than a resort. Directly on the beach, the hotel is small enough to retain intimacy and large enough not to feel claustrophobic after a week. The Belvedere is definitely one of our favourites.
Quiet and pleasant, this hotel is ideal for couples and diving fans. However, it is poorly adapted for a family-style vacation due to the absence of a kid's club.
An all-round good quality hotel compared to most hotels in Sharm el Sheikh. The extension of the Hilton Shark's Bay is neat and well maintained and is separate from the original part of the resort. There is also nothing Egyptian about the place; one could be anywhere in the world. This part of the hotel lacks in atmosphere but is relaxing and guests are guaranteed a fairly good quality room.

The Oriental Rivoli is without doubt one of the classiest hotels in Sharm el Sheikh. Its sumptuous decoration must be the finest in the resort and all of its services exude quality, from its staff to its food. Best suited for couples or groups of friends, due to its lack of animation or a kids club, it is the perfect place for relaxation, reflection and rejuvenation.
