    Location 10.0 /10

Located in Tower Bay, the hotel is easily accessible from both the centre (around 2,5 mi from Naama Bay and 1,2 mi from the old town) and the airport (with a transfer of around 20 minutes by car), and transportation can be arranged on request. The hotel also boasts a permanent entertainment team.

    Accommodation 7.70 /10

The light wooden decor adds a touch of brightness to the hotel's guest rooms, which are large enough to accommodate a couple or a small family, though they are certainly a little too sparse. In addition to the two standard beds, one or two children's beds can also be added if need be. The unusual architecture of the Club Reef, which is built across different levels of terrain, plays on the effect created by the guest room balconies, resulting in a sort of mish-mash of layering which is rather easy on the eye and enhanced by the presence of the very refreshing garden, especially during the summer months. The 132 guest rooms at the hotel are modern and functional and appeared to be clean and well-maintained, with large beds and a large wardrobe.

The spacious bathrooms, with a wide selection of hospitality products, are an asset, as is the concept of the Privilege supplement. For approximately 43 pounds per person, a relaxation pack including a bathrobe, slippers, a beach towel and a welcome tray, with tea and coffee-making facilities including a kettle, is provided. Guests are particularly well looked after on their day of departure, when it is possible to keep your room until 3:00pm.

    Overview 7.45 /10

At first glance, you'll feel like you're about to enter a Moorish castle; inside, you'll be blinded by the white of the plastered interiors and the blue of the sea, the two colours which will forever remain in your memory when you look back on your stay at the Reef. The architecture of the hotel, built on many different levels, is particularly appealing, not to mention the bountiful gardens, with plants and trees produced using incredible Egyptian gardening techniques. Finally, the views of the island of Tiran, bathed in the blazing light of the sun setting at dusk, are absolutely splendid. The hotel is pleasantly simple and particularly popular with Italians, as well as English and Norwegian guests. The relaxation area is set apart from the where the hotel's entertainment programme is provided, and the pool here (heated in winter) guarantees a few hours of rest away from the hustle and bustle, making it one of our favourite parts of the hotel. In addition to the relaxation pool, there is also a main swimming pool and a children's pool, separated by the Panorama bar and the snack bar, where you can grab a quick bite to eat during the day.

The evenings are full of youthful enthusiasm, particularly as an international entertainment programme is provided in the hotel's (indoor) theatre, and if you're interested in socialising with fellow guests, you might be interested to know that this recently renovated theatre accommodates around a hundred people. If you have any energy left to expend after the show has finished, you might want to join the other night owls at the hotel at the Bedouin tent, where you can enjoy mint tea and a water pipe as traditional and more modern Arab music plays in the background. Sports enthusiasts will be pleased to know the hotel has tennis courts and mini-football pitches that guests can use free of charge, as well as a diving centre (think about what we've said about the diving here), a small massage centre and a hairdresser for those who fancy a little pampering, not forgetting the conference room, although admittedly that might not be top of your priority list when choosing a holiday destination.

    Food and drink 7.95 /10

The hotel has an la carte restaurant and a buffet restaurant, both of which serve varied cuisine and have terraces, in case you would like to enjoy your meal out in the fresh air. The Club Reef offers a varied and unpretentious menu of restaurant classics, as well as a selection of Egyptian dishes, which seems to suit guests perfectly, particularly as the portions are generous. Keep in mind that since the terrace is very pleasant, it tends to get very busy.

If you fancy a change of menu one night, there is a second la carte restaurant serving more unusual dishes and a wider selection of wines (though we would nevertheless recommend you stick with the beer, if you must have an alcoholic drink).

    Beach 7.20 /10

The beach at this hotel is particularly popular for its intimate setting. You'll not find row upon row of parasols here, like in Rimini, or endless rows of loungers stretching as far as the eye can see; no, the ultimate in relaxation comes in the form of a small bay, where the coral reef stretches right up to the shore. There is even a wooden jetty running from the beach to a deeper part of the water (believe us, diving into the Red Sea is a truly unforgettable experience) in order to avoid damaging the coral along the shoreline and to protect the children and the enthusiasm that's sure to overcome them upon seeing the sea, as it is easy to cut your feet on the coral. A genuine aquarium of multi-coloured fish, the sea here is a natural habitat home to a multitude of marine species. If you've ever dreamt of diving in the Red Sea, your dream could well come true! Alongside this initial bay, there is a small, less noteworthy but equally peaceful cove, whilst a little further along again you'll find the lively tourist beach of Naama Bay. Count yourself lucky for staying here, as the peace and quiet is priceless!

    To know

This compact hotel was built in 1995 and underwent a two-year renovation project from 2000-2002. The 4 star Club Reef has been run by tour operator Eden Viaggi, which succeeded Columbus, since 2009 and is very popular with couples and families looking for privacy. As is the case with most of the establishments in Sharm, 'all-inclusive' reigns supreme here.

There is a spa worth mentioning for its high quality treatments and good organisation. The Oriental is ideal for a week-long stay with the family or a group of friends. Couples may be seeking a little more peace and intimacy.

The Jaz Belvedere Hotel is easily one of Sharm el Sheikh best quality resorts. With its beautiful interiors and very well maintained exteriors, the Belvedere is more of a hotel than a resort. Directly on the beach, the hotel is small enough to retain intimacy and large enough not to feel claustrophobic after a week. The Belvedere is definitely one of our favourites.

An all-round good quality hotel compared to most hotels in Sharm el Sheikh. The extension of the Hilton Shark's Bay is neat and well maintained and is separate from the original part of the resort. There is also nothing Egyptian about the place; one could be anywhere in the world. This part of the hotel lacks in atmosphere but is relaxing and guests are guaranteed a fairly good quality room.

The Oriental Rivoli is without doubt one of the classiest hotels in Sharm el Sheikh. Its sumptuous decoration must be the finest in the resort and all of its services exude quality, from its staff to its food. Best suited for couples or groups of friends, due to its lack of animation or a kids club, it is the perfect place for relaxation, reflection and rejuvenation. Recommended whole-heartedly by Easyvoyage!
