At first glance, you'll feel like you're about to enter a Moorish castle; inside, you'll be blinded by the white of the plastered interiors and the blue of the sea, the two colours which will forever remain in your memory when you look back on your stay at the Reef. The architecture of the hotel, built on many different levels, is particularly appealing, not to mention the bountiful gardens, with plants and trees produced using incredible Egyptian gardening techniques. Finally, the views of the island of Tiran, bathed in the blazing light of the sun setting at dusk, are absolutely splendid.
The hotel is pleasantly simple and particularly popular with Italians, as well as English and Norwegian guests. The relaxation area is set apart from the where the hotel's entertainment programme is provided, and the pool here (heated in winter) guarantees a few hours of rest away from the hustle and bustle, making it one of our favourite parts of the hotel.
In addition to the relaxation pool, there is also a main swimming pool and a children's pool, separated by the Panorama bar and the snack bar, where you can grab a quick bite to eat during the day.
The evenings are full of youthful enthusiasm, particularly as an international entertainment programme is provided in the hotel's (indoor) theatre, and if you're interested in socialising with fellow guests, you might be interested to know that this recently renovated theatre accommodates around a hundred people. If you have any energy left to expend after the show has finished, you might want to join the other night owls at the hotel at the Bedouin tent, where you can enjoy mint tea and a water pipe as traditional and more modern Arab music plays in the background.
Sports enthusiasts will be pleased to know the hotel has tennis courts and mini-football pitches that guests can use free of charge, as well as a diving centre (think about what we've said about the diving here), a small massage centre and a hairdresser for those who fancy a little pampering, not forgetting the conference room, although admittedly that might not be top of your priority list when choosing a holiday destination.
