The Golden is a small, very well organized hotel perfect for families.
The Golden is a small, very well organized hotel perfect for families.
The hotel is situated on Nabq Bay private beach, 15 and a half miles from Naama Bay centre.
The hotel rooms are spacious enough, approximately 400 feetē. They overlook the mountains or the pool. They are each equipped with satellite television, a small safe, individually controlled air-conditioning, a mini refrigerator and a telephone line for direct overseas calls. All rooms have a balcony or a terrace equipped with garden furniture.
The Golden is the gateway to the desert and has a beautiful view of the mountains. It has a total of 198 rooms organised in brick-colour buildings around a large swimming pool with a pool bar. The hotel is not very big, making it friendly, however does not offer much space and vegetation is scarce. A number of its guests are regular customers. The hotel also has a kid's club, which caters for children from four to 12 years old, and a spa with massage rooms, a gym and a large jacuzzi. One of the largest Bedouin tents, which can accommodate up to 200 people, offers oriental dinners and Egyptian performances, for example, belly dancers.
The hotel has one very large restaurant that can accommodate up to 600 people and the majority of customers stay on all inclusive packages. The restaurant is open from 6:30am to 10am for breakfast, from 1pm to 3pm for lunch and from 7pm to 10:30pm for dinner. The buffet is quite varied (a large selection of fresh vegetables, pizza slices prepared upon request and vegetarian dishes) and offers a different theme every day. There are also 3 bars throughout the hotel. The lounge bar is located above the reception and offers cocktails and alcoholic drinks in a cosy atmosphere and a large terrace. Around the swimming pool, two other snack bars offer simple, inexpensive dishes.
The hotel has no adjoining beach but enjoys the Radisson hotel beach, which is just on the other side of the road. The Radisson hotel beach is quite large with many sunbeds, coffee tables and sunshades. Access to the sea is not possible from the beach because it is located on a coral reef. A pontoon makes it possible to access the areas deep enough for bathing or diving. For children, the beach has a wooden playground.
In May 2007, the hotel added 200 rooms and a large water complex. Our advice about accommodation: rooms beginning with the number 7, are perfectly located. Quite close to the swimming pool and the various activities, they are nevertheless very quiet.

The Tropicana Grand Azure, not to be confused with its sister hotel across the road (the Tropicana Azure Club), is a large complex on the beach. The outdoor areas are very pleasant as is the beach. There is a generally relaxed atmosphere that is well suited to families and groups of friends.
A surprisingly very attractive resort with all the amenities a guest should expect from a holiday in the sun. Whilst retaining the Egyptian touch, the Laguna Vista Beach resort is elegant and relaxing whilst staying extremely varied in its bars and places for guests to relax, giving the area a real village feel. One of the most, if not the most attractive resort we have visited, the Laguna Vista Beach is definitely in our top 5.
A friendly hotel designed to combine Ancient Egyptian architecture with contemporary design. The only resort in Sharm el Sheikh which can claim to look Egyptian is El Hayat. Fun yet could be seen as slightly cheesy, the designers here have taken the temple concept to new heights! On two levels, the resort feels a little cramped for sunbathing and it is not on the beach. El Hayat makes for a nice stay in Sharm but can feel a little claustrophobic due to the buildings being close to the pools, thus not leaving much open space.
This is not the friendliest of hotels but it does offer very affordable rates, for those who have no particular expectations.
Very small and intimate, the Laguna Vista Garden is perfect to get away from it all. Guests stay in quaint round private villas planted around a green flowery garden. More of a hotel than a resort, the Laguna Vista Garden is ideal for couples or families looking to spend some quality time together relaxing around the pool.
The Amway Oyoun, previously a Hilton Hotel, sets itself apart from many of the shoddy resorts found in the area due to its fairly good quality finish. On the beach, the site is fairly big, but the atmosphere remains calm and relaxing.
Club Magic Life is by far one of the best resorts we have reviewed in Nabq Bay. Not too big, extremely green and with good quality facilities, Brits may be phased by the German invasion here, but if after peace and quiet with good food and a good beach, in a good quality establishment then this one's for you!
The Oriental Resort is a relaxing version of a large resort. Its gardens divide up the large concrete buildings making the stay more pleasant. There is a spa worth mentioning for its high quality treatments and good organisation. The Oriental is ideal for a week-long stay with the family or a group of friends. Couples may be seeking a little more peace and intimacy.
Perfectly maintained, this hotel facility offers luxury and refinement. With its shaded gardens, many fountains and outdoor jacuzzi, it is the ideal place to relax.
The Jaz Belvedere Hotel is easily one of Sharm el Sheikh best quality resorts. With its beautiful interiors and very well maintained exteriors, the Belvedere is more of a hotel than a resort. Directly on the beach, the hotel is small enough to retain intimacy and large enough not to feel claustrophobic after a week. The Belvedere is definitely one of our favourites.
This gargantuan complex is quite simply in a class of its own. You can take any aspect of the hotel, its rooms, its spa, its eateries, its views or its staff and you'll find everything is top draw. If it is top of the range you are after for in Sharm then you can't go far wrong in choosing the Royal Oasis, perfect for couples and families looking for the very best in service and facilities in a setting to die for.
Fully equipped, this hotel offers exclusive comfort in a pleasant setting. Ideal for a week of relaxation.
Quiet and pleasant, this hotel is ideal for couples and diving fans. However, it is poorly adapted for a family-style vacation due to the absence of a kid's club.
An all-round good quality hotel compared to most hotels in Sharm el Sheikh. The extension of the Hilton Shark's Bay is neat and well maintained and is separate from the original part of the resort. There is also nothing Egyptian about the place; one could be anywhere in the world. This part of the hotel lacks in atmosphere but is relaxing and guests are guaranteed a fairly good quality room.
One of the classier outfits in Sharm el Sheikh, the Royal Grand Sharm offers the complete package to guests looking for that little bit extra from their hotel. Perky staff, a beautifully kept environment and convivial atmosphere make this a natural choice for both couples and families. This mid- to high-end establishment is extremely comfortable and is recommended wholly by Easyvoyage.
The Oriental Rivoli is without doubt one of the classiest hotels in Sharm el Sheikh. Its sumptuous decoration must be the finest in the resort and all of its services exude quality, from its staff to its food. Best suited for couples or groups of friends, due to its lack of animation or a kids club, it is the perfect place for relaxation, reflection and rejuvenation. Recommended whole-heartedly by Easyvoyage!
