The exterior of the hotel, while extremely long, is rather low-key and modest. The circular lobby however, is anything but. Organised around a central gallery with steps leading down to the basement, the lobby is a hive of activity with its bar, computer access, seating areas, shopping strip (pharmacy, bank, photo shop, diving store, souvenirs, mini market, perfumes, jewellery) and terrace. Its size could be seen as not especially warm and welcoming however and it is true to say that it is not the brightest of spaces. Amphoras boasts six swimming pools to choose from, all of which are fresh water and feature a separate kids area. The beach pool boasts a rock formation and incorporated jacuzzi, as does another, the Palm Pool. For those wanting some peace and quiet, head to the Relax Pool. The river and waterfall linking the main pool to the one below it is a very reposing feature. Every pool has ample sun beds and shading and the buildings are never so close to the pools as to block out the sun too early in the day, with the exception perhaps of the Ceramic Pool, where the music can also be a little loud, if not frighteningly up-to-date. The hotel's eight-strong animation team provide a comprehensive program all day long, starting in the morning with activities including stretching and dancing on the beach or by the pool and a mini club for kids. In the afternoon why not compete in the sports tournaments or take some belly dancing lessons. A mini disco for kids in the evening precedes various shows and a quiz. The wellness centre, 'The Zen Zone', which is befitting of the hotel, consists of a well-equipped gym, with free weights, four nicely decorated massage rooms complete with showers, a sauna, a quite designer-looking hammam, an aerobics room and a squash court (one of the few in Sharm). Beauty treatments are also available. Table tennis, tennis, volleyball and water polo can all be played on the premises. Glory Zone is the hotel's night club, open between 11pm and 3am which is comparable to many clubs in Europe in terms of its sound system. It is beautifully decorated with modern oriental paintings and has plenty of room to dance. Entry is free. Room service, a limo service and a 24 hour doctor are also provided by the hotel. The complex is sizeable, there's no getting away from it, however walking from A to B is never a chore as the grounds are pretty and well kept.
