The Minos Imperial is totally isolated and appears to be a very peaceful resort set in a lovely location, in between nature and the sea. Wrong! This maze of a hotel, with its unending stairways, is constantly subjected to the hustle-and-bustle of people. You will, first of all, walk into a reception area which is decorated in a kitsch Venetian style that doesn't reflect, in any way, the rest of the resort. Built over several floors, the Minos Imperial opened in 2002 and its very pleasant terrace, with wicker sofas, offers a stunning view over the entire resort. When you walk around the resort, you will discover numerous little wooden bridges, flower beds and lush vegetation, as well as little staircases darting off in every direction. All in all, guests have a choice of 10 swimming-pools, two of which are filled with freshwater and one of which is heated at the beginning of the season. The largest swimming-pool is where everyone congregates and where most of the entertainment is. A bit further on there is another swimming-pool, with comfortable deck-chairs, inviting you to relax. Between these two pools, there is a big bar facing the sea (beware, slippery floor!) One of the pools is equipped with various water games, while another includes an impressively long toboggan (that never seems to be working!). One practical aspect: a big lift that takes you from the reception area to the swimming-pool area, when it actually works! A fitness centre occupies a nice air-conditioned room facing one of the swimming-pools. It includes 11 fitness machines. The games room is also well-equipped and there is a children's club which occupies a small room and is designed for children aged between 4 and 12. It is open from 10:00am till noon and from 3:00pm till 5:00pm. There is also an amphitheatre where shows are held in the evening.
