Right from the first moment we arrived here, the hotel proved to be disappointing - and we are not talking about its grubby pool that needs refitting, or the deck that needs redoing, or the lobby, which looks like it has seen better days in the hotel's 12-year history. We're talking about simple reception service; we rang the bell at reception but no one came. Half an hour later, there was still no one. We had to go to the back of the hotel to find someone to help us at reception. Once we had found the right person, who was an extremely bubbly character, we continued our inspection of the sights.
As mentioned before, the pool area needs a complete refit, as does the accommodation and especially the hut at the end of the garden that says 'spa' on it. The garden, very well kept and the hotel's only positive draw, could also do with a clear-up by the abandoned building close to the pool. The left-over - what was that? A BBQ maybe? - bits of construction materials and unfinished projects need to go.
We liked the fact that the hotel is attached to a language school, which is a great way of learning while on holiday.
