    Location 3.0 /10

The Abou Nawas Boujaafar is located on the seaside, at the end of Bourguiba avenue, which is one of the main avenues of Sousse. For the transfer from Monastir airport (located 12 miles away), allow for a 20 minute ride.

    Accommodation 6.95 /10

The rooms, spacious and comfortable, are nicely furnished with a contemporary style furniture: they have a balcony, satellite television, telephone and adjustable air conditioning. Bathrooms are equipped with a bathtub. Half of the rooms have a view of the sea, the others of the city.

    Overview 7.20 /10

Built in 1991, the Abou Nawas Boujaafar has a nine-story building including 234 rooms. The decoration mixes oriental and contemporary influences. The relaxation areas are reduced to the small portion around an oval 3,225 square feet swimming pool. In return, the equipment offered are numerous: sunshades, deckchairs and towels. The thalassatherapy centre allows you to subscribe to ŕ la carte treatments or to have a package for 4, 6, or 9 days.

    Food and drink 6.70 /10

Breakfast and dinner are served buffet style in a nice room decorated with pastel colours. The cuisine is made of local and international specialties. An ŕ la carte restaurant allows you to enjoy dietary menus in a particularly refined environment.

    Beach 6.20 /10

You get to the beach of the Abou Nawas Boujaafar through a concrete pier. The beach is small but well equipped (sunshades, deckchairs, showers and snack-bar). An nautical base allows you to practice pedalo and windsurfing (with supplement).

    To know

The Abou Nawas Boujaafar is located in the middle of Sousse and its beach is very modest in size. In return, the thalassatherapy centre is a non negligible plus. It is better to choose this address during low season: this way, you can associate relaxation and discovery of the old city of Sousse.

Built in the late 1960s, the Kathago el Ksar underwent a complete renovation in 2001. Far from resting on its laurels, this 4-star hotel is already focused on its next upgrades that should currently be underway. In the meantime, the Ksar can be proud of its well-maintained facilities. The guest rooms may not be a model of originality but the hotel compensates for this by offering bungalows in addition to its accommodation blocks. With a total of 449 lodgings, the hotel is far from being a small structure on the coast: avoid it if you are allergic to crowds!

With this princely name, you will expect quality services to match. Even though you are far from the splendour of Monaco here, its Sousse version isn't too bad. A pleasant 4-star hotel, accommodations at the Monaco consist solely of suites with kitchenettes. Far from the lively club resorts to be found in the area, it offers all the services of an aparthotel. Located on the waterfront, the Monaco also has a swimming pool and a spa.

It may have a regal name but the Royal Jinčne isn't very different from the other hotels along the coast. Opened in 2004, this traditional 4-star hotel can boast having modern facilities and everything you would expect a resort hotel to have. Those on a tight budget can opt for its 3-star neighbour and member of the same group, the Jinčne. Guests staying here can use the facilities at the Royal.

Designer atmosphere for this hotel with a "fashion" decoration and a family clientele. Large spaces, bright colours, a huge swimming pool, entertainment for everyone, a hotel that we recommend to families.

Opened in 1969, the Marabout was one of the first hotels to be built in the small city of Sousse. Renovated and expanded, it now has a hundred guest rooms with a contemporary look. The other guests will just have to be content with the somewhat outdated standard rooms. However, everyone can take advantage of the leisure facilities, such as the swimming pool with its waterslides. Sure to be appreciated by the whole family!

Don't be fooled by this 4-star establishment's promising name. Opened in 1967, the hotel is far from being a palace! The only thing different about the Sousse Palace compared to the rest of the hotels at this seaside resort is its old-fashioned look. However, the hotel is scheduled to be closed for one year in 2012 in order to renovate its buildings from top to bottom. Check back in 2013 for the results!

We can't even count the number of Marhaba hotels there are in the city of Sousse! The Marhaba Beach itself shares a large complex with three others. Although they all operate independently, you should still avoid coming here if you're looking for a private setting! However, this can also be an asset, especially when it comes to the shared facilities. The Marhaba Beach may differ slightly from the others in terms of the communal areas, but its positive aspects include tasteful and modern new guest rooms as well as a location on the beautiful beach of Sousse.

We can't even count the number of Marhaba hotels there are in the city of Sousse! Although it is difficult to stand out as a holiday resort in this city, the Royal Salem does have some notable extras. In addition to its modern rooms and large swimming pool with a waterslide, the hotel benefits from a splendid location right beside the beach.
