Designer atmosphere for this hotel with a "fashion" decoration and a family clientele. Large spaces, bright colours, a huge swimming pool, entertainment for everyone, a hotel that we recommend to families.

    Location 7.0 /10

On the seaside, 12 miles away from Monastir airport, the hotel is located in the village of Sousse. Allow one hour and a half to get to Hammamet by car.

    Accommodation 7.45 /10

Modern, all rooms were renovated in 2006 and enjoy a very brightly coloured decoration. A lot of closet space and quite big bathrooms equipped with bathtub and hair-dryer. The bungalows can accommodate three people and are nice as they are closer to the beach. 50 family rooms, with a red and yellow decoration, allow families to stay together: children can sleep on the couch and parents in the double bed!

    Overview 7.45 /10

White buildings from one to four story maximum. The more you move away from the sea, the taller the buildings are. The very trendy gigantic entrance hall gives onto to a big terrace overlooking the swimming pool. Colours are bright, the decoration very simple, all is tied up in the furniture which by itself gives an identity to the place.
The swimming pool is equipped with sunshades made of three small round bright coloured parasols. Originality and design are here once more.
A covered swimming pool, a small pool, a large lively swimming pool and a "lake" in front of the beach where everything is calm, and naturally, the beach. The choice is large to go bathing.

    Food and drink 7.20 /10

The large green and white room where the buffet is located is a nice place to enjoy a varied international food. A Tunisian restaurant with a vault ceiling welcomes every evening musicians in a charming atmosphere and environment. They serve the classic couscous, fritters and tajines, and a small à la carte restaurant serves international dishes. The "all inclusive" clients can dine once a week in the Tunisian restaurant and once in the à la carte restaurant. Ideal to eat somewhere else than at the buffet without paying too much.

    Beach 7.70 /10

Beautiful beach, not very large but nice. White sand, clear water, everything is here for a seaside stay shared between the beach and the swimming pool. If you want peace, stay on the beach.

    To know

No electric plugs in the rooms, charge your batteries before departure or ask the front desk to plug telephone and computer.
During the summer and in the morning, late risers can take their breakfast on the beach until 11.00am.
If your plane arrives late, think about bringing some sandwiches as the kitchens close at 9.00pm.
Entertainment for children aged 4 to 7 years old and 8 to 12 years old. Indeed, you do not mix the youngest ones with the oldest ones!

Built in the late 1960s, the Kathago el Ksar underwent a complete renovation in 2001. Far from resting on its laurels, this 4-star hotel is already focused on its next upgrades that should currently be underway. In the meantime, the Ksar can be proud of its well-maintained facilities. The guest rooms may not be a model of originality but the hotel compensates for this by offering bungalows in addition to its accommodation blocks. With a total of 449 lodgings, the hotel is far from being a small structure on the coast: avoid it if you are allergic to crowds!

With this princely name, you will expect quality services to match. Even though you are far from the splendour of Monaco here, its Sousse version isn't too bad. A pleasant 4-star hotel, accommodations at the Monaco consist solely of suites with kitchenettes. Far from the lively club resorts to be found in the area, it offers all the services of an aparthotel. Located on the waterfront, the Monaco also has a swimming pool and a spa.

It may have a regal name but the Royal Jinène isn't very different from the other hotels along the coast. Opened in 2004, this traditional 4-star hotel can boast having modern facilities and everything you would expect a resort hotel to have. Those on a tight budget can opt for its 3-star neighbour and member of the same group, the Jinène. Guests staying here can use the facilities at the Royal.

Opened in 1969, the Marabout was one of the first hotels to be built in the small city of Sousse. Renovated and expanded, it now has a hundred guest rooms with a contemporary look. The other guests will just have to be content with the somewhat outdated standard rooms. However, everyone can take advantage of the leisure facilities, such as the swimming pool with its waterslides. Sure to be appreciated by the whole family!

Don't be fooled by this 4-star establishment's promising name. Opened in 1967, the hotel is far from being a palace! The only thing different about the Sousse Palace compared to the rest of the hotels at this seaside resort is its old-fashioned look. However, the hotel is scheduled to be closed for one year in 2012 in order to renovate its buildings from top to bottom. Check back in 2013 for the results!

We can't even count the number of Marhaba hotels there are in the city of Sousse! The Marhaba Beach itself shares a large complex with three others. Although they all operate independently, you should still avoid coming here if you're looking for a private setting! However, this can also be an asset, especially when it comes to the shared facilities. The Marhaba Beach may differ slightly from the others in terms of the communal areas, but its positive aspects include tasteful and modern new guest rooms as well as a location on the beautiful beach of Sousse.

We can't even count the number of Marhaba hotels there are in the city of Sousse! Although it is difficult to stand out as a holiday resort in this city, the Royal Salem does have some notable extras. In addition to its modern rooms and large swimming pool with a waterslide, the hotel benefits from a splendid location right beside the beach.

Opened in 1996, the only thing royal about the Royal Beach is its new à la carte restaurant located on the top floor. Expanded in 2001, there are just 123 guest rooms in this hotel. It is ideal for those who like smaller establishments! However, if you enjoy sports and/or have children, this isn't the place for you, since there are no sports facilities (except for the swimming pool) or children's club. This 3-star hotel is best suited for couples on a tight budget.
