Here is a hotel which we recommend if you want to come to Jersey to get away from everything... and have a couple of excursions or an afternoon on the beach. Because the hotel - if you are willing to rent a car - is not far from Saint-Helier and the seaside.

In Mont Felard, overlooking Saint-Aubin bay. The centre of Saint-Helier and the ferry terminal are 2 miles away. Allow 10 minutes to get there. The airport is 3 miles away (10-15 min journey).
As there is no elevator, it is better to be on the ground floor. And it is quite a trek to get there: recessed corridors, steps here and there, fireproof doors... Also ask for one of the 44 rooms facing the sea: there will be a balcony. The other rooms overlook the surrounding countryside or the parking lot. Useful information: of the 63 hotel rooms, only 3 can sleep 4 people. The size is that of a townhouse hotel: 172 ft² for the double rooms. The style is simple, almost Spartan: the paintwork, furniture and fabric is in a light ochre colour. Discreet paintings show abstract compositions or stylised flowers. The facilities include a tea/coffee kit, television, direct telephone line, bathroom with bath and welcome products. No minibar available. Safe at the reception for a charge.
Housed in a 3-storey building, the Cristina overlooks Saint-Aubin bay. A very beautiful view that can be appreciated during the day or as the sun sets, from the pool or bar terrace. From the entrance facade you can get straight to the bar terrace via a floral staircase that sets the tone of the hotel grounds and Jersey's micro-climate. Renovated in 2004, the hotel has a small reception furnished in art deco style. A lounge-library follows on from the bar. The other leisure area is the pool: it measures 65 x 33 ft and is surrounded by a small well set-out terrace-solarium (loungers and parasols, bath towels provided). Clear view over the woods, gardens and buildings on the hillside, and the sea further away. No sound around... it is very restful.
The restaurant dining room has a large bay window facing the sea, and a countryside view for the tables at the rear. Full meals served morning and evening. Buffet breakfast with cereals, pastries, yoghurts and fruits; omelettes, bacon and baked beans served at the table, in addition to hot beverages. In the evening, you can choose the "table d'hote" or a la carte menu. Best to go for the specialities of the island: fish, seafood (mussels with cream) and Jersey royals (small potatoes). At lunchtime, snacks are served at the bar, or a picnic to take away can be provided (remember to order it the day before, prior to 6 pm).
Allow 15 min by foot to reach the shore below the hotel. The beach, which is in Saint-Aubin, is vast. It extends all along the bay, which is 3 miles. Plenty of width on the sandy part, particularly at low tide, though there are no loungers for rent. This beach is best for jogging or horse riding. The beautiful beach with watersports and loungers and parasols for rent is in Saint-Brelade, 2 miles away.
As for land-based sports, the hotel has a partnership with Les Ormes leisure village (next to the airport, 3 miles away): its tennis courts, 9-hole golf course and fitness room are open to the residents of the Cristina. Ask for more information at the reception regarding opening hours.
