A very pretty stone building with two towers, the hotel celebrated its 70th birthday in 2008. Located on an estate with a large lake, stables and a golf course, this rather large hotel fits the cliché of a large country mansion. Well-known and therefore very busy in summer, the hotel's terrace has a superb view over Lake Rond. With a games room, pool table and a bar, it has everything for the long winter evenings.
In the past, the "little north train" took city-dwellers from Montreal to a stone's throw away from the hotel in one hour. The rails have now been pulled up and the route transformed into a cross-country ski slope in winter and cycle tracks in summer (62 mi).
In the summer, the hotel attracts numerous golf enthusiasts thanks to its 9-hole golf course located in its grounds and two 18-hole golf courses nearby. There is also an equestrian centre offering horse and pony riding or a carriage drive, which is ideal for exploring the place as a family. The hotel also has a swimming pool which is big enough for doing lengths and which becomes open-air in the summer, a squash court, which is quite rare in this area, a large sports room with all sorts of cardio and body-building apparatus and a sauna. In the summer, you can take to the lake in a canoe or pedalo and swim, before having a rest on the peaceful private beach, as motorboats are prohibited here. There is also a shuttle service to take guests to the nearest ski resort, Chantecler ski, which has 25 runs. Snowmobile hire, cross-country skiing and sledge rides are provided by external suppliers with whom the hotel has arranged discounts. Every winter a large skating rink is set up on the lake. This will give you the perfect opportunity to let off steam as a family.
